I'm looking for a beta type of PCF (stocks degree of volatility relative to the market) and also a PCF which can provide a sort by market cap over 10 billion let's say.

PCFs are not needed (nor can they be created) for these.

There are built in conditions for both (Capitalization and Beta).

Watch this video to learn how to use built in conditions in EasyScan.

Using EasyScan to find stocks that meet your own criteria

The following is copied from another thread:

"A PCF for Beta on daily data can be written if you like.

The problem is that the PCF requires minor adjustments for each new day you update. This is because you have to enter (I think three) new constants for the reference Symbol and slide the index of each Ck up by 1 to C(k+1)."

The length of the PCF increases linearly with the number of days over which Beta is to be calculated.

Addendum:

The statement regarding the daily changes of the PCF for Beta are dependent upon getting a sufficiently accurate covariance of the stock return and the index return using the so called "one-pass" method of computation.

For a discussion of the "one-pass" and "two-pass" method of calculation of variance, please see my 02/10/06, 4:11:28 PM post at:

Modelling Bollinger Bands (& Standard Deviation) in a TC PCF

HI:

Thanks for the reply.

I am wanting to sort my stock selections by their beta numbers.  I just can't remember how I use to do this and time is against my remembering.

I tried to watch the video but the computer is not producting any sound.  I need to chase that down and then I can look.

The information on this reply would indicate that what I want might be done in another way.

Thanks

To sort by Beta, simply right click in the grey space next to "Sort Value" at the top of your watchlist, choose add column and select Beta from the library. Once the column is added, simply click on the column header to sort.

Hi:

I remember doing that before and I have the list sorted.  However, it says the list is sorted by Beta on 5/21/2010.  Why not by todays date?

The fundamental criteria are updated on Saturday's so the Beta value is as of Friday's close, the 21st.
