Topic: TC 2000 v.12.1 new pricing question
Posted: Tuesday, March 20, 2012 2:32:43 PM

I just got an email from Jeremy in Support. I am now more clear on the trendline alerts. Still a tad confused on the scans though. In any event, i don't care for how they just threw this at us. A nice email announcing the coming changes would have been more appropriate in my opinion. I sent a really nasty email to Worden. After reading Jeremy's email to me, I sent another email and appologized for being such a MORON. LOL I jumped the gun with my temper. Best to clearly understand something prior to making hasty statements against it, something I'm guilty of. Still not thrilled with the way this was done, but it's not as bad as I thought. I don't use scans too much, so i should be ok.

Hi Worden,

With your new pricing on alerts and scans, you just lost a customer. I canned my account tonight. I suspect you'll lose 50% of your business within days.Great job. Who's the genius that came up with this ripoff plan? Good riddance...Hello Stock Charts, Hello FinViz Good bye Worden!

Well spoken.

This is bad business practice. Very very bad.

After all these years of serving their clients well, it looks like we have turned a corner. If Worden wants to lose customers and never get them back... well, this is the way to do it. I've been with Telechart for almost 10 years, and for the first time, I am strongly considering dropping them. Less for the cost and more for the principle. Having read through all the comments on this board, I can see that I am not alone. Worden has breeched our trust. They need to make it right now before it's too late.

QUOTE (kdncs)

This new "Alert Monitoring" of version 12 is complete and utter nonsense. I'm only a Gold user, but with the alert and scan prices, I could easily pass a Platinum user in cost on a monthly basis.

What's next? 10 cents to sign-on, perhaps 15 cents to draw a trend line on a chart, or maybe 20 cents to use a Fib retracement.

This reminds me of the farmer who was selling a haywagon to another farmer for $50. After the deal was made the first farmer asked the seconjd one "Do you want wheels for the wagon? They're $25--apiece, oh, and the spokes for the wheels--they're gonna be $10--apiece. And so on and so on, until the final cost for the wagon came to $10,000 !!!

When I found out about all of this Saturday, I immediately deleted all my alerts and unchecked my alert notifications. I then removed the alert panel from all of my tabs. This removed me from any of the alert charges and I will not do any more scans of any kind.

I also sent a message to Feedback@tc2000.com and I urge everyone else to do the same. Worden cheapened the company name and their product with this thinly disguised revenue raising device. Don would have never allowed this to happen.

Hi, I am a bit confused about the new pricing associated with this new release. First off, I am a Platinum Subscriber, so my concern is the new charges on real-time data. Can somebody please clarify this:

It says Alerts are $0.01/stock/month. Does that mean every stock alert credits my account a penny? If I set 10 different price alerts on XOM, do I get charged $0.10 or just $0.01?

I don't use alerts very often, so this is not my main concern. My main concern is the new pricing of scans: I viewed the following message “Some Alerts and Livescans may cost extra if they require complex calculations. These surcharges will be clearly notated before initiating actions”. Can somebody simplify this statement?

Let’s say that I have a watchlist of 3000 stocks. If I want to sort my watchlist by a particular parameter, let’s say “Price at new intraday Low”, will my account be credited for this? I am a “chronic” sorter, and I am constantly sorting my watchlists based on different parameters. I really don’t want to have to deal with monitoring my usage of the number of scans. At $0.15 per 15 minutes, what does that mean? Does that mean that my account will be credited $0.60/hour ($3.90 per trading day x 20 days per month = $78/month)? What if I scan for several different conditions? The pricing will be exorbitant.

I really hope this is not the case. I enjoyed using unlimited service. The current system was perfect the way it was, please don't change it.

Excellent, so can they be written to deactivate after 2 signals?

That is to say, after the second signal is given the condition stops checking. And no more signals are given for that day.
