On Friday March 10, 2006, Sir Market Habitue shared his sorting stock technique, but I need help in understanding creation of it and application. I believe that I have figured out the PCF's for 4/8 crossovers, 22MA and 50MA price breakout and volume exceeding 50MA, but I am unsure about the Stochastics and MACD crossovers. Also when I used the Custom date sort for All Stocks for the period Sir MH described (12/30/05-1/30/06) I did not get any of the stocks that he listed so this leaves me uncertain about how he is using this feature to sort stocks. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

One of our trainers put together a topic covering the scans in Sir Market's letter:

I tinkered with his approach...it works pretty good...but like everything else, it is not perfect. If you can get a stock with MACD, Stochastics and 4 day/8 day crossovers occuring within a few days of each other, the stock does have a tendency to jump....sometime a lot...sometimes not. It is even better if you can get a breakout from a conjestion area to new 40 day high. The real trick isn't the entry...it is where to place your stop (closing or intra-day?) and when to exit. You should strive for risk/reward of 3 to 1 or better on your trades...and trying to figure that out before you enter a trade with this strategy is difficult if not impossible. Maybe Habitue will shed more light on this for us...but, until then, take his approach and shape it to your own.
