I read some of the stochastic crossing formulas posted...but I am not sure I have it figured out. Can you give me a formula for SK crossing up thru the SD period for a 12,5,3 exponential stochastics....sorry in advance if this has already been addressed multiple times!
Topic: TSV Cross-Over PCF for 4-Day Chart
Posted: Thursday, June 14, 2007 10:02:25 PM
I am using "Sir 5-Minutes-a-Week" approach (May 4, 2007) for individual stocks. I am trying to construct a PCF for TSV16 crossing over the 11 day simple moving average on a 4 day chart. This is my PCF...but it is not showing TSV16 crossing over the 11 moving average on the 4 day chart. Any suggestions?

(AVG(TSV16.1,4) < ((AVG(TSV16.1,4) + AVG(TSV16.2,4) + AVG(TSV16.3,4) + AVG(TSV16.4,4) + AVG(TSV16.5,4) + AVG(TSV16.6,4) + AVG(TSV16.7,4) + AVG(TSV16.8,4) + AVG(TSV16.9,4) + AVG(TSV16.10,4) + AVG(TSV16.11,4)) / 11)) AND (AVG(TSV16,4) > ((AVG(TSV16,4) + AVG(TSV16.1,4) + AVG(TSV16.2,4) + AVG(TSV16.3,4) + AVG(TSV16.4,4) + AVG(TSV16.5,4) + AVG(TSV16.6,4) + AVG(TSV16.7,4) + AVG(TSV16.8,4) + AVG(TSV16.9,4) + AVG(TSV16.10,4)) / 11))
Topic: Best Trending Indexes??
Posted: Saturday, March 10, 2007 12:13:57 PM
I would be using a 100 minute chart...for example...the Dow 30 Index was in a spectacular up trend using this time frame. My goal is to use trend lines and buy (or sell) at the upper/lower trend lines. I am interested in both up trends (for going long) and down trends (for shorting). I just want to be able to get as many trending market indexes as I can so that when one is not in an obvious trend..I can find one that is. Thanks for any help...

I am interested in following several markets at the same time and
trading those that are demonstrating active up or down trends. I am
having a problem finding a list of 10 to 25+ of the best historically
trending markets to follow...stocks or commodities. Does anybody have
a good list to utilize or a web site that might have some information
to help me set up my particular "watch list" of indexes? Thanks...

I have a similar question...I need a PCF to sort my Watchlist...sort by each stock's percentage gain today as compared to its average daily percentage fluctuation over a given time period...say 90 days. In essence, I am wanting to sort my Watchlist by those stocks whose current day percent gain (or loss) is high as compared to what its normal daily percentage fluctuation usually is. Any suggestions?
Topic: Sir Market's Formula Help

I tinkered with his approach...it works pretty good...but like everything else, it is not perfect. If you can get a stock with MACD, Stochastics and 4 day/8 day crossovers occuring within a few days of each other, the stock does have a tendency to jump....sometime a lot...sometimes not. It is even better if you can get a breakout from a conjestion area to new 40 day high. The real trick isn't the entry...it is where to place your stop (closing or intra-day?) and when to exit. You should strive for risk/reward of 3 to 1 or better on your trades...and trying to figure that out before you enter a trade with this strategy is difficult if not impossible. Maybe Habitue will shed more light on this for us...but, until then, take his approach and shape it to your own.
