Hi Bruce,
I would like scans for the following.
1. gap down on a 10-min chart and also a fill in the same 10 min bar (if this is possible).
2. a scan for the previous day's low and a breakdown of that previous day's low - 10 min chart
3. a scan for a previous days = rectangle - at least 2 o3 hours worth of 10 min bars and the thinner the rectangle the better
4. a scan for a daily chart for a triangle, lateral moves/ sideways, rectangle so i can use it for different timeframes.
Suggestion: i've noticed that there have been many pcfs written already. it would be great if all created pcfs are in one consolidated area/file. thank you so much.
thanks a lot

QUOTE (ladyrose) 1. gap down on a 10-min chart and also a fill in the same 10 min bar (if this is possible).
If you mean a daily gap down and then a fill, then this cannot be done using a 10 minute time frame as there is no way to determine the time of day in an intraday Personal Criteria Formula. You could however check for open to be below the previous close and the current price at or above the the previous close using a daily Condition Formula:
O < C1 AND C >= C1
The same formula could be used with a 10-minute time frame to check for this pattern from one 10-minute bar to the next 10-minute bar.
QUOTE (ladyrose) 2. a scan for the previous day's low and a breakdown of that previous day's low - 10 min chart
There is no way to determine the low of the previous day using an intraday PCF.
QUOTE (ladyrose) 3. a scan for a previous days = rectangle - at least 2 o3 hours worth of 10 min bars and the thinner the rectangle the better
There is no way to determine when the date changed in an intraday PCF. You could sort by the following Indicator Formula set to a 10-Minute Time Frame to identify which symbol have the narrowest total range as a percent of average of range over the most recent 2 hours. The lower the value, the more likely the pattern would represent consolidation within a narrow rectangle:
100 * (MAXH12 - MINL12) / (AVGH12 - AVGL12)
QUOTE (ladyrose) 4. a scan for a daily chart for a triangle, lateral moves/ sideways, rectangle so i can use it for different timeframes.

That said, I personally do not think complex pattern recognition is practical in TC2000 using formulas and Scans.
They are at the very least beyond my abilities to help you create without a specific unambiguous objective definition of what you are attempting to identify. It can't be an I know it when I see it type of definition or be based entirely on an image.
This is true of pattern recognition in general with the exception of fixed size candlestick patterns, which are fairly straightforward as long as the pattern is well defined:
Boolean PCFs for Candlestick Patterns

There are literally thousands of completely different PCF requests. A consolidated list of all of the PCFs which have been created in the forums would be extremely large, difficult to follow and contain many PCFs which were only useful to the person requesting them initially.
The search function is probably more useful than any single post containing all of the PCFs could ever be.

Thank you Bruce.
The gap down formula is perfect. It is exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for listing some formulas here. This is a great help since I am still new at this.
And I will remember to use the search function in searching for already created pcfs that I might be able to use in the future.
Have a terrific day!
