Sig:    What do you think,  a descending triangle pattern?     Support around $106.    Possible breakout around $109.      Bulkowski says enter  after the breakout, but if price reverses,  reverse position.

made a quick 5% gain from Friday to give it back today, $SPX down move is too strong, EU is going bankrupt now, gold is not playing into that, lookslike deflation is the key word not inflation, will sell my gold in the next fake pop, Signaltap

Anyone who follows the gold and currency markets closely will realise -  that the US$ gold price and the Dollar Index generally trend in opposite directions -  or, to put it another way, that the US$ gold price and the Swiss Franc generally trend in the same direction. This reciprocal relationship between gold and the dollar is often not evident on a daily or weekly basis, but is almost always evident during periods of 12 months or longer.

I'm sold.  ;)    My only problem is UUP ($USD) and the drag it has had on Commodities. Perhaps with the fed holding interest down it will help shine up the gld.

I have been reading that Gold is in the context of a Bull market, Invers to the DOW.

I have compiled a list of Gold charts that I am watching. NEM & ABX appear to be moving to the up-side after a recent pull-back.

Apsll, thanks, good stuff. I have not researched this a great deal yet, but I am also hearing lithium is going to be a great investment. I think it makes sense.

Agreed ....

However ... it doens't seem as though it can be the ultimate answer ...

You see ... we're simply trading one consumable resource for another ... and the new one will be consumed at a much faster pace ...

Google an article entitled "The Trouble With Lithium" ... by William Tahil ...

The problem with alternate energy sources is not so much the production ... but the storage ...

I mean ... who really cares if a solar panel is 15% efficient ... or 20% efficient ... as long as you have plenty of sunlight ... and you're not paying anything for it ...

Same can be said for wind energy ...

The key is ... and has always been ... effectively storing the energy so that it is available to meet demand ...

And I just don't think that technology is anywhere near where it needs to be yet ...

Of course ... the upside as an investor is in the fact that if we continue to push towards a technology that will quickly deplete a resource ... the price of that resource will increase geometrically ...

Looks as though it may be time ....

Though I must admit I'm a much bigger fan of platinum ... since it is a principal element in polution control equipment ... and the tide seems to be turning "green" ...

Not to mention the fact that there is about 15 times more gold produced in a year's time ... than platinum ...

QUOTE (United States Mint)

American Eagle Gold Proof Coins

Production of United States Mint American Eagle Gold Proof and Uncirculated Coins has been temporarily suspended because of unprecedented demand for American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins. Currently, all available 22-karat gold blanks are being allocated to the American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin Program, as the United States Mint is required by Public Law 99-185 to produce these coins “in quantities sufficient to meet public demand . . . .”

The United States Mint will resume the American Eagle Gold Proof and Uncirculated Coin Programs once sufficient inventories of gold bullion blanks can be acquired to meet market demand for all three American Eagle Gold Coin products. Additionally, as a result of the recent numismatic product portfolio analysis, fractional sizes of American Eagle Gold Uncirculated Coins will no longer be produced.

Update: Due to the continued, sustained demand for American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins, 2009-dated American Eagle Gold Proof Coins will not be produced.

Maybe SIG  missed this one, at least temporarily.

SA    maybe rebounding ahead of others.    Pretty good volume.

Worden's need to come up with a "smiley" in the form of a jackass, so those of us who post wrong things can add the jackass, then one won't feel so bad when the prediction is totally wrong.

Apsll, why don't you go back several months ago where you promised to leave the forum forever and stick to your promise.    Back when there was no decention among members.   Hypocrisy seems to be your strong point.

Tiger Your avatar would be that small brown spot under the jackass's tail.

Hey jonny how are ya....

If you are indeed reading the archives you might want to check out some of the nice battles between your buddy bigblock and Havenocents. Diceman used to toy around with a couple of Eliot Wavers. There is a long history of dispute. Instead of being obsessed with just me you might want to try being in possession of the "true" facts next time you start babbling.

Besides it is too much fun watching Tiger and Traderm stomp on you.

You can end it all if you just stick to discussing stocks. You bring it all on yourself you know. Traderm has noticed your un-healthy interest in me. Just give it up my friend and all will be well.

Thanks Apsll.

the lack of volume, in this gold move, was telling.

elliot wave is interesting stuff, and something to watch.  only problem is there are about 50 different wave counts.
