Verson 16 shows the chat is not available.  Is this chat eventually going to work in version 16 or has it been discontinued?

Chat is most likely not going to be available in TC2000 version 16.

Is there a way of using V 16, but having the chat going at the same time in another version?

No, not really. When you try to start another instance of TC2000 using another version (besides TC2000 v7), it will shut down TC2000 v16.

Though I have used the chat couple of times, I am curious why is tc2000 chat more useful than using an external program like whatsapp or skype? 

I would rather have the development team fix the huge list of bugs and enhancement that has been reported in this forum for a long time than working on a chat that can be easily replaced by an external program.

We pay for having a great software product with great charts with no bugs. Thats the main reason we pay monthly. Developers should NOT be working on chat and other things that are not core to the offering. Working on non core things is equivalent to a cardialogist instead of helping a heart patient to get better he is focussed on choosing a color for what the patient has to wear next day. If the heart is no good the color does not matter anymore. If the bugs continue to exist and not fixed in the charts for ever, what use the chat feature can do? Useless.

Please pick the priorities to continue to invest on making the charts better and fix the long list pf bugs.

What is the development team doing to address any of them. So for nothing. Hope they get their act together and act on these issues and all the other issues reported.

Then, how to install V. 7? I don´t see a hint at the homepage (but I see the HP still having highlighted the chatroom feature..)

As time goes by ... Now I installed V 7 for looking at the chatroom, but I can´t find it . Sorry this is my first encounter with  V 7.

TC2000 chat in any version requires Platinum service. It is not available with Gold.

You will need Platinum to view chat in v7, but it will appear on the right side below the charts.
