Hi, I run two scans and keep track of the numbers I get each day - one scan is for stocks in an uptrend via guppy MMAs and one is for stocks in downtrends via guppy MMAs.

The scans are as follows....

Downtrend
XAVGC3 < XAVGC30 AND XAVGC5 < XAVGC30 AND XAVGC7 < XAVGC30 AND XAVGC10 < XAVGC30 AND XAVGC12 < XAVGC30 AND XAVGC15 < XAVGC30 AND XAVGC3 < XAVGC35 AND XAVGC5 < XAVGC35 AND XAVGC7 < XAVGC35 AND XAVGC10 < XAVGC35 AND XAVGC12 < XAVGC35 AND XAVGC15 < XAVGC35 AND XAVGC3 < XAVGC40 AND XAVGC5 < XAVGC40 AND XAVGC7 < XAVGC40 AND XAVGC10 < XAVGC40 AND XAVGC12 < XAVGC40 AND XAVGC15 < XAVGC40 AND XAVGC3 < XAVGC45 AND XAVGC5 < XAVGC45 AND XAVGC7 < XAVGC45 AND XAVGC10 < XAVGC45 AND XAVGC12 < XAVGC45 AND XAVGC15 < XAVGC45 AND XAVGC3 < XAVGC50 AND XAVGC5 < XAVGC50 AND XAVGC7 < XAVGC50 AND XAVGC10 < XAVGC50 AND XAVGC12 < XAVGC50 AND XAVGC15 < XAVGC50 AND XAVGC3 < XAVGC60 AND XAVGC5 < XAVGC60 AND XAVGC7 < XAVGC60 AND XAVGC10 < XAVGC60 AND XAVGC12 < XAVGC60 AND XAVGC15 < XAVGC60

Uptrend
XAVGC3 > XAVGC30 AND XAVGC5 > XAVGC30 AND XAVGC7 > XAVGC30 AND XAVGC10 > XAVGC30 AND XAVGC12 > XAVGC30 AND XAVGC15 > XAVGC30 AND XAVGC3 > XAVGC35 AND XAVGC5 > XAVGC35 AND XAVGC7 > XAVGC35 AND XAVGC10 > XAVGC35 AND XAVGC12 > XAVGC35 AND XAVGC15 > XAVGC35 AND XAVGC3 > XAVGC40 AND XAVGC5 > XAVGC40 AND XAVGC7 > XAVGC40 AND XAVGC10 > XAVGC40 AND XAVGC12 > XAVGC40 AND XAVGC15 > XAVGC40 AND XAVGC3 > XAVGC45 AND XAVGC5 > XAVGC45 AND XAVGC7 > XAVGC45 AND XAVGC10 > XAVGC45 AND XAVGC12 > XAVGC45 AND XAVGC15 > XAVGC45 AND XAVGC3 > XAVGC50 AND XAVGC5 > XAVGC50 AND XAVGC7 > XAVGC50 AND XAVGC10 > XAVGC50 AND XAVGC12 > XAVGC50 AND XAVGC15 > XAVGC50 AND XAVGC3 > XAVGC60 AND XAVGC5 > XAVGC60 AND XAVGC7 > XAVGC60 AND XAVGC10 > XAVGC60 AND XAVGC12 > XAVGC60 AND XAVGC15 > XAVGC60

These scans worked perfectly for over a year until this past week, when I have gotten "zero" as the number for both.   I changed nothing on scan or in Telechart.   It just seemed to stop working.   All other scans are normal.   When I test the scan, I get the message "not enough data to calculate".   Weird.

Any help would be appreciated.    Thank you very much.

Exp. averages require more data than their length.
Change your test  symbol to one that has a lot of data.

'not enough" is not an error its information.

(your probably getting zero because no stocks met the PCF as true)

Thanks

Thank you, but IBM was the test signal - I think that one has plenty of data.  I would understand the "not enough data" if it was an IPO.   It was working fine until Wednesday I think.   then it just stopped picking stocks up in the scan.   I have no clue.

I get true for IBM.

Do you have the "use 250  days of history" checked? (it wont calc if thats not checked)

Did you update?

Thanks

I have updated numerous times since Wednesday - same result.   It has worked for over a year.   A few days ago, I believe I got one of those messages that says "Telechart needs to organize your data, this may take several minutes" or something like that.   Maybe that messed something up.   I have no clue why this one scan isn't working now.

I have found that most errors in telechart are user created.
(they think they have what they have but they don't)
In years of use I have rarely seen anything fail.

I would check the 250 days first.

If you believe that update messed you up,
(I doubt it, I get that all the time)

Then delete the PCF's, copy and paste the ones here into you scan,
that should work. (as they will now be "fresh")

Thanks
diceman

I have tried to delete the old PCF and paste it over to get it working again - no luck.   All of my other PCFs are fine, but I continue to get zero for the results of these two scans.   I have no clue why.

I am having the same problem with the same scan.  Using SPY for test -- receive the same message.
Calculate longer than 252 days is checked.

EN,
Welcome to the forums. A very good foundation for learning how to use TeleChart can be gained by reviewing the following:

If you are new to TeleChart READ THIS FIRST!

I currently get 963 symbols returning True for the Downtrend Personal Criteria Formula and 5093 symbols returning True for the Uptrend PCF.

A test using SPY tells me 301 Market Days are required for calculation, but I do not receive a message indicating there is not enough data.

If you have already tried everything recommended by diceman, my recommendation would remain the same. Please contact technical support. Please contact technical support.
