I've been thinking of upgrading to the platinum service but there a few missing features that are red flags for me, namely:

1. Lack of pre/post market data

2. No futures data (I'm not talking about the exotics just the standard traded ones, for example ECBOT which is widely available on brokers platforms)

3. The restriction in historical data - for example a 10 minute chart will only give you about 20 days of data

4. The lack of real-time in TICK/TRIN data

Is there any future intention to address these and are there any other benefits to the platinum service over gold other than real-time data?

Yes, they are severe limitation for me too.

Dones anyone know if Version 7 has also these limitations?

TC2000 version 7 does not have pre or post market data or futures. TC2000 version 7 is not limited to 500-bars of data and usually has much more data available. TC2000 version 7 Platinum does have $TICK and $TRIN symbols available in RT.

Add me to the list of people who are still looking for basic E-mini futures charts, 24X7 of course.

I keep thinking it's just a matter of time for this, since we've had the FX quotes for a while now. Not that I can't get it on just about any other charting package but I am always trying to centralize to one product.

Things always move more slowly than I'd like at Worden though there is a certain advantage in patience with the markets so I just try and apply that to my view of the development of the software.

The real-time constantly updating scanning is one improvement that has me leaning towards going back to platinum anyway. It would be good to have that be configurable on my end so that rather than just constanty updating, I could set it to update every 1,5, 10 .... 60 secs only.

And of course, trading from the charts to a few core brokerages ...... :) But were I Worden, if I was going to do this, I'd take my time and do it right, making not only trading but easliy managing  the positions a core requirement. I digress as usual .....

Thanks

BUT - these "realtime" TICK and TRIN (and A/D) symbols are 15 minute delayed - they are NOT realtime.

BH,

If you dont mind sharing, where are you pulling your real-time TICK or TICKQ from? I am trying out stockcharts.com this week, but already it works and  feels clunky and slow compared to IQfeed.

Anyone else care to share please post!

$TICK and $TRIN are generated internally using realtime data from the realtime symbols which we carry.

Thanks Bruce, I did not realize they were generated internally. Since they are generated internally then what is the reason for the 15-min delay?

Note that BHGamble's Wednesday, July 11, 2012 1:21:14 PM ET post is incorrect. The $TICK and $TRIN symbols in TC2000 version 7 are realtime and are not delayed.

The 15-minute delay in TC2000 version 12.2 is not a matter of the calculations (or the data wouldn't be available immediately in TC2000 version 7). It is a technical issue with the way TC2000 version 12.2 gets its realtime data versus the way TC2000 version 7 gets its realtime data and has to be resolved by development.

Ahh very good. Many thanks for the explanation. I did not realize that it was real-time in ver 7. I am hoping the programmers can resolve that issue in 12.2 sooner than later.

I'm almost positive that it is not possible to run ver 7 and 12 at the same time, is this correct?

You can run them at the same time. You can't have the realtime active in both at the same time.

ThinkorSwim from TD Ameritrade has it all real time, to the max and free.  I use TOS/TDA for my main trading direct from their charts.  Spread over a 27" Samsung Monitor ($200), it dosen't get any better.  I use TC2000 on a secondary system for scans, alerts, watchlists, screen notes and historical notes.  The TC database is fast, customizable and seemingly endless.  Third, I use StockCharts.com for Point and Figure charts and misc. chart lists.  Don't think any one system will ever have it all, it's a very competitive field and always changing...good luck.

Thanks Walker. I have always had an aversion to TD Ameritrade (fees & service) but have heard from others that their platform is the best of not only the free but even some $$ as well.

Thanks for the recommendation and I'll really have to consider opening yet another brokerage account.
