Years ago, Don Worden came up with an indicator that he called "The Relative Strength Crossover Indicator." I know that he used Relative Strength compared to the DJ-30 or SP-500 inded but what did he use for the cross over? An Average?

Regards,

Al

He used 10 and 40 period exponential moving averages of the Relative Strength plot.

Yes, the RSMA and FXMA use Moving Averages of Relative Strength. The difference is that FXMA uses one of the FX (fixed rate of return symbols) as the Comparison Symbol.

Setting up RSMA Exit Strategy indicators

In TC2000 version 12, you can check for crossovers of two Moving Averages of Price by clicking on one of the Moving Averages and selecting Create Condition if both Moving Averages are applied to the same Relative Strength Indicator on the chart.

Indicators, Sorting & Scanning

In TeleChart 2007, it is possible to create formula for FXMA.

Is there a way to get a negative FX10, FX20...etc.?

But I do not know of a way to create a practical automated formula for RSMA. You may wish to review the following for a semi-automated technique for creating Relative Strength in a Personal Criteria Formula:

RSMA PCFs
Indexes in PCF's

Bruce, I'm extremely interested in this. At my firm we use Relative Rotation Graphs on Bloomberg and the calculations seem quite similar to this. Idk if you are familiar with the RRG if not check out www.relativerotationgraphs.com but I would love to create something like this on TC. I know it wont be as graphically appealing but I'd like to do something possibly four watchlist indicating what quadrant of the graph the various sectors or asset classes are in. What do you think? -Nate

If you check out the last paragraph and last two references in my Friday, August 05, 2011 2:24:54 PM ET post, you will see that Relative Strength formulas in TeleChart 2007 need to be manually constructed each day. While you can plot a Relateve Strength Indicator and create Conditions based on the RS without creating formulas in TC2000 version 12, I do not know of a way to create anything similar to RRG in either TeleChart 2007 or TC2000 version 12 (we might be able to create something conveying the same information without all the rotating in StockFinder however).
