Topic: Using SF to produce custom breadth indicators?
Posted: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 12:43:34 PM
Thanks very much Bruce.
I've just purchased a new pc to test out the StockFinder platform. As soon as it arrives, I'll test it out using some of the above indicators and will let you know my experience.

Thanks again!

1. Can I use it to show advances-declines of the Russell 3000?
2. So if 1000 stocks are up 2000 are down, I can produce an indicator showing -1000?
3. In real-time? Do I have to press a "refresh" button or is it  "streaming?
4. If all the above are possible, can it also do the same calculations but using last price and today's open? In other words, a breadth indicator using today's OPEN instead of yesterday's close?

Thank you very much!
Topic: Is the "X" Average in a PCF computed different from a chart indicator?

Oops!

Sorry, kind of a new user and I just realized I had the bar chart seting on "2 day" as opposed to daily. No wonder things didn't match!

Sorry. Please disregard prior post.

I have a simple PCF as follows...C < XAVG(C,50)

However when I put up a 50 period exponential average on the chart, a few of the symbols chosen by the easy scan using the above formula are clearly above the average. What am I missing?

I've also tried C<XAVGC50 but still get the same results! The Xavg on the PCF is supposed to be calculated using the "LAST" price as of "TODAY" but the indicator on the chart does not appear to be the same formula used in the PCF???

Thanks ahead for your response.
