I am hoping that the v17 capabilities will enable a flexible percentage of drawdown.
By drawdown, I am thinking of a negative percentage from a Maximum High (over an x period of time) to a Minimum Low Yesterday.
I deally, I'd like to see the x period of time be 252 days. However, realistically, I realize that this period of time will probably slow down calculations to the extent they will not be workable.
Thur, Bruce, do you have a recommendation for an x period of time that produces a fast-enough calculation to be workable.

Do you just mean the following or are you asking for something more complex?

It seems I do need something more complex. In order to explain, let's use UVXY as an example.
The above formula shows that UVXY is -93.49%. Yet its previous High on 1/12/17 was $33.63, and its previous Low on 7/14/17 was $8.84.
Using the Custom Date Sort as a quick way to just estimate the drawdown during this period of time, the result is down 71.95%. (I assume calculates from Close to Close, not High to Low. Am I correct in my assumption?)
So, again looking at UVXY. Our Logrithmic as well as Arithmetic and % Scaling show the Low within 252 days was on 7/14/17.
Yet, here comes the rub. Yesterdays Close was actually a higher price at $41.31.
So if the CLOSE on 7/13/17 was $6.12 and the CLOSE YESTERDAY was $40.93, the simple PCF Indicator below calculates in inaccurate result of -92.49% (negative 93.49%).
Finally, using the Custom Date Sort, this time from 7/14/17 to yesterday (7/10/17), instead of a Drawdown, we see an increase of 549.35%.
Am I missing something because of he very large Gap Up between 1/10/17 and 1/12/17?
Realistically, I'd like to see the Drawdown between the Maximum High at 1/12/27 and the Minimum Low at 7/14/17 rather than Yesterday (as I had requested.)
We definitely need something more sophisticated because you want the lowest low since the high and not just the low of yesterday.
That said, why January 12, 2017 when it was $126.68 (your $33.68 price appears to be unadjusted for splits which would not give you the correct results)?
If you are looking at 252 bars, the price was far higher on September 13, 2016 at $522.00 and that is within the 252 bar window
When I click on Tools, I see a check on "Unadjusted for Splits".
I will unclick and see if the 1/12/17 Price changes.
Yes, when I unclick, the High Price changes to $134.52 and the Close Price changes to $122.08.
Above you said January 12, 2017 price was $126.28. That price matches neither of the prices I mentioned (neither High or Close).
What price were you referencing when you referred to $125.28?
As a Platinium user, does that affect the prices I see on my chart for ones earlier than today versus what you see?
I think the 126.28 must have just been a typo. I have the same prices as you.
In any case, I just want to determine either that you would not use January 12, 2017 as the high or why you would use it if you would.
I'd like to use any Maximum High as the High. Perhaps within 252 days (or longer if this will not slow down the calculations.)
I'd like to use the Minimum Low as the Low. Even if before yesterday.
Also, If the calculations would be faster (more efficient), we could use Maximum Close versus Minimum Close.
I am assuming that Custom Date Sort is based on Close versus Close. Is this correct?
As an example, APC from the Standard & Poors 100 stocks...
Maximum High on 12/12/16 and Minimum Low on 7/7/17.

Custom Date Sort is based on close to close, but I don't think it would increase efficiency any to use only closing prices versus highs and lows in the formula.

From the first Easy Scan , I see 19 stocks with Draw Downs equal to or lower than 20 percent.
From the second Easy Scan, I see 82 stocks with Draw Downs equal to or lower than 20 percent.
The largest DD is DVN at 43.20%.
The least DD is ALL at 0.78%.
Bruce, after more testing, I see that so far the first and the second formulas are returning the exact same percentages. Do you anticipate that this will resolve after the close?
Finally, can you reverse your two fomulas looking for the Minimum Low Close versus the Maximum High Close?

If you really want to just use closing prices instead of highs and lows, you can use the replace function in a text editor to replace every instance of H with C and every instance of L with C instead.
