Hi,I'm trying to create two Bollinger Band/ Keltner Channel crossover conditions. 1) Lower BB crossing Down thru the Lower KCand2) Upper BB crossing UP thru the Upper KCI've tried and failed to set this up using the standard condition creation methods, but it was pointed out to me by the nice folk at SF Support that the standard criteria appear to only provide a crossover of the BB CENTER LINE (not upper or lower bands). Is there any way to create these two conditions for sorting in SF?Thanks for your help,- Don

If you add a 1-Period Simple Moving Average to the Lower Bollinger Band, you can Drag and Drop it onto the Keltner Channels to create a Condition for crossing through the Lower Keltner Channel by choosing it from the drop-down.
You could use the same method to create a Condition based on the Upper Bollinger Band crossing through the Keltner Channels.
The Bollinger Band Centerline (or Keltner Centerline) does not figure into it all as the Centerline is not normally Plotted for either Indicator.

Good Morning, Bruce!
Your Post on Monday, October 25, 9:43 AM looks interesting but I am brain dead when it comes to creating formulas. How would I set up the Keltner Channel in the best manner to follow your first suggestion above and, what would the Keltner parameters be?
Also, how would I set up the Keltner Channels for the second sentence to locate a crossing through the Upper Keltner Channel? Would the 1-period SMA be the same for both? And, if not, how would they differ?
My intent is to create a chart with a Keltner Channel that tells me when price is approaching or crossing through the Lower Keltner Channel and another chart that tells me when price is approaching or crossing through the Upper Keltner Channel.
Thank you!

The trainers can't give setting, interpretation or investment advice.

The reason we are adding 1-Period Simple Moving Averages to the Keltner Channels is because the resulting Moving Average is identical to the underlying Keltner Channel. It is just a workaround to allow you to Drag either the Upper or Lower Keltner Channel onto another Indicator to create a Condition. So yes, you would use a 1-Period SMA for both Keltner Channels.

I am using Telechart and do not find Keltner Channels when I want to add this indicator to my chart. What am I missing? I do have Stockfinder 5. Is it available there And, where will I find it?
Also, with the Keltner Channels, how do I add the 1-period SMA?
Thanks, Bruce. I appreciate your assistance.

The question is in the Ask a Trainer - StockFinder forum. Keltner Channels are not one of TeleChart's built in Indicators. You may want to take a look at the following topic for information on how to implement Keltner Channels in TeleChart:
Keltner
You will find the Indicator in StockFinder by selecting Add Indicator/Condition to Chart | Kelter Channels | Price History | OK.
To add a 1-Period Moving Average to the Keltner Channels in StockFinder, select Add Indicator/Condition to Chart | Moving Average | (either the top or bottom Keltner Channel) | OK. Then you would left-click on the Moving Average to bring up the Edit window and change the Average Type to Single and the MovAvg Period to 1.
