I have the same problem. I'll wait for the live tech support to open tonight because I'm on the other side of the globe.

This is so wrong. Not being able to use a program 'cause it can't sign in via internet.

I guess that answers a questions that was to come up in the future for me: That would be using the program without an active internet connection. Like on an airplane. Or hotel room. Or other places.

Can we go back to version 5 ? Or will you fix this so I can use what I paid for. Nobody evey told me, nor was I notified, that I could not use this version offline.

If the previous version is not available, you owe me a refund.

There is a lot to said for distributing CD's (historical data) periodically and allowing users to access the software without having to log in.

Dumb Feature.
Log IN (site) Not Available = Telechart Does Not Open.

Must DISCONNECT / DISABLE Internet Connection,
then Telechart Opens OK.

A Big PAIN !

Looks like a BUG to me.

I completely agree with JaDaveIII. Did I miss the memo that said 2007 would not work without an internet connection? Please explain.

manu2000one,
This is normally caused by having an Asian language as the default non-Unicode language in Windows. To correct the issue, follow the steps below. You may or may not need to do the options in parenthesis depending on what version of Windows you have.

Click Start | (Settings) | Control Panel | (Switch to Classic View) | Regional and Language Options

For Windows XP:

1. Click the Advanced tab.

2. Set the option “Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use.“ to English (United States).

3. Reboot Windows and run TeleChart again.

4. You'll need to delete and re-type the Username and Password.

For Windows 2000:

1. Set the default language in the “Your locale” box to English (United States).

2. Click Apply, OK and reboot Windows.

3. Open the Regional Options again and remove the checks for any Asian language listed.

4. Reboot Windows and run TeleChart again.

5. You'll need to delete and re-type the Username and Password.

Thank you Bruce,

I had a reply from Jeremy by email and I was about to post the answer in the forum, but since you have alreayd done so.
I have to say the support from Telechart seems to be very good.
