Large percentage of gap Downs on Friday seem to be banks or bank related.

How are you defining a gap down and how did you find this information? I would be intrested in finding industries/sub-industries which gapped up.

The "standard" definition for a gap is when today's low is greater than yesterdays high:

L>H1 (gap up)

or today's high is lower than yesterdays low:

H<L1 (gap down) .

You can create the scans yourself. Also the is a built in scan in
system sorts called "Gappers"

Thanks
