Hi,
From the start, I went to New--PCF--named it-Close as % of Open 1 day ago. It took me to edit formula and I typed in--C1/01*100
tested--results on IBM : 84.36/1.00*100.00 result:8436.00
Then I repeated these same steps New--PCF--#2 named, formula, test, results, save. etc. same on #3, #4, #5-got syntax error and #6 got result 77.82 w/23 days to create criterion.
The formula I used on #5 was:(((((C1<=01)*C1)+((C1>01)*(-1))-L1)/(H1-L1)*100
Is that correct formula?
AM I doing anything else wrong so far that you see?
Thank You, Michelle

It is the letter O as in OPEN on C1/O1*100 and C1<=O1 not the number zero

Same thing in the other formula.

What do you want to accomplish with formula #5? It is not written in a correct form for either True/False Boolean or numeral result.

A dark cloud cover would look something like this:

H>H1 and L<L1 and C<O and C<O1 and C<C1

A Close as a percent of Open 1 day ago would look something like this:

((C-O1)/O1)*100

Sincerely,

She is working from this topic:

PCFs and EasyScans for Candlestick Patterns

#5 gives the bottom of the candle as a percent of the wick.

Her Close as a percent of Open 1 day ago is fine (once she gets the zeros replaced)

It looks to compare the close of one day ago to the open of one day ago and is from the same topic I just linked.

Craig,

In your reference, #5 under Dark Cloud Cover is:

"Bottom of Body Today as % of BoB 1day ago (100.01 to MAX)".

"... the bottom of the candle as a percent of the wick (yesterday}" is not used in your definition.

As previously pointed out, your definition of Dark Cloud Cover can include a gap up so it is unique to you in that the Dark Cloud does not necessarily cover anything.

Thanks,
Jim Murphy
