Bruce, how can you start the moving average Indicator , see below the 200d SMA and 200d DEMA,

  at the beginning date of the graph instead of the offset time to construct the moving average..

Would setting a negative offset be the way? Or is it just shifting the average to a different place in time.

I guess shifting the moving average using a negative offset would allow it to start plotting at the beginning of the graph, but I really wouldn't suggest it even though I don't have another workaround.

If you apply such a negative offset, you are using future data in the calculations and the moving average will no longer plot to the right edge of the chart.

If you do apply a negative offset, you might want to try using an offset of negative (period - 1) / 2 instead of negative period. This plots the moving average in the middle of the data used for its calculation and recommended by some as the best way to plot moving averages.

The reason the moving average doesn't start plotting at the left edge of the data is that it only uses the data on the chart for its calculations.

Makes sense  thanks for the explaination., maybe something you guy's can put on the bin list for future enhansements.
