Hi,
I have a watchlist of US common stocks. I have three conditions. Two use a daily time frame and one uses a one-minute time frame.
I am using one-minute bars to track day-trades.
When I start the program, the watchlist is scanned to find stocks meeting the conditions. When done, the time of day is shown alongside the refresh scan symbol. The number of stocks from the scan is shown at the bottom of the watchlist.
I have not clicked on the start streaming scan button.
If I wait long enough the program runs the scan again and I get a different time of day and count of stocks meeting the criteria, but I did not click the refresh scan button and I did not click the start streaming scan button. This happens after perhaps 1/2 hour or more.
I sometimes minimize the program to work with other programs, and then come back to TC2000, and the scan seems to be unchanged, at least for intervals less than about 1/2 hour.
ver. 18 seems to work differently from v17.
What I want is that the scan is left unchanged unless I click the refresh scan button.
Please advise how to get that to happen.
Thx,
Steve

I do not know of any way to force it to not occassionally update the scan.
All you can really do if you want a snapshot that won't update at all is to copy the symbols to a Personal WatchList.

Hi,
OK. Can make a copy to another WL where no scans are used.
Why is it programmed to rescan without being commanded?
Is there a set time interval when it rescans?
I don't remember ver 17 doing this. Is that correct?
Thx,
Steve

I don't know if there is a time limit or something else is causing the refreshes. I just know I get them too. I think I got them occassionally in v17 as well, but I don't think it was as frequent.

Bruce, I don't know if I can request help developing a scan with you.
Market Cap 100 million to 3.5 billion
average daily volume 100,00 or greater
stock price $5 to $30
3 & 8 Exponential Moving Averages and 50 and 200 simple moving averages
stochastic under 25
Bullish Engulfing Candle Signal
Daily Chart
Thanks in advance for any help....Junia Barber

I tried answering this in the How to find stock trading above past 5 days high or breaking thru a 5 day resistance topic, but I need more information.
You can do most if this in a Personal Criteria Formula.
AVGV21 >= 100000 AND 5 <= C AND C <= 30 AND STOC12.3 < 25 AND C1 < O1 AND .7 * (H - L) <= C - O AND O1 < C AND O < C1 AND 1.2 * (AVGH10-AVGL10) <= H - L
Boolean PCFs for Candlestick Patterns
But you will need to select Add Condition in your EasyScan for the Market Capitalization requirement.
How to Scan a Current WatchList With a New Condition Set
And I don't know what sort of condition you want to create with the moving averages.
