I am unable to get quotes for the following pairs: GBP/CAD, GBP/NZD, AUD/CHF, EUR/NZD, NZD/CHF, CAD/CHF. Can these somehow be added? Thanks.

It is not possible to add your Forex pairs to TC2000. You are limited to the Forex pairs which are already in the program.

It would theoretically be possible to plot the closing prices of each bar for pairs which are not available by using the Relative Strength indicator, but there is no way to then display these values as either artificial symbols or WatchList Columns.

The reason you can do this is that the Relative Strength indicator in TC2000 is just the ratio of the active symbol to the comparison symbol.

So let's say you wanted to get a chart of GBP/CAD. You could create this by having a Relative Strength indicator with the active symbol set to EUR/CAD and the comparison symbol set to EUR/GBP or you could do this with the active symbol set to GBP/JPY and the comparison symbol set to CAD/JPY.

Notice that which symbol is the active symbol and which symbol is the comparison symbol depends on if the common symbol is the numerator or denominator of the Forex pairs being used.

To actually set this up, you would need to add the Relative Strength indicator (not Relative Strength Index indicator) to the chart by choosing Add Plot to Chart (the green + in the upper left of the chart) and choosing the Relative Strength indicator from the chart.

Then click on the Relative Strength indicator and select Edit so you can select Symbol and set it the symbol you wish to use for the comparison symbol. Then click on OK to save the settings of the Relative Strength indicator.

At this point you would normally switch the main symbol of the chart to the symbol you need for the active symbol to make the desired Forex pair.

TC2000 version 12.4 does give us the option of setting the active symbol for the Relative Strength symbol independently from the main symbol for the chart if we are willing to plot the active symbol on the chart as well.

You would choose Add Plot to Chart and go to the Symbols tab. Then start typing the name of the Forex pair to use as the active symbol in the Relative Strength indicator. Choose it from the list when it gets near the top. This should add that Forex pair to the chart as its own plot.

Once the Forex pair you want to use as the active symbol in the Relative Strength indicator is on the chart, you can click on the Relative Strength indicator and select Change Data Source to set it to the plot of the Forex pair you want to use as the active symbol.

Wow, Bruce - sorry to make you go through all that. I have another platform I use for forex. Just thought it'd be nice to have everything consolidated in TC. Thanks anyhow.
