Chris Kacher in his book comments that TC2000 (assuming older version) has

the PCF for "Pocket Pivots".  I did find code but when I backtested it idid not test.

Could you please provide if available?

A Personal Criteria Formula for a Pocket Pivot can be written as:

C > C1 AND V > ABS(C1 < C2) * V1 AND V > ABS(C2 < C3) * V2 AND V > ABS(C3 < C4) * V3 AND V > ABS(C4 < C5) * V4 AND V > ABS(C5 < C6) * V5 AND V > ABS(C6 < C7) * V6 AND V > ABS(C7 < C8) * V7 AND V > ABS(C8 < C9) * V8 AND V > ABS(C9 < C10) * V9 AND V > ABS(C10 < C11) * V10

Hi Bruce,

I copied the code exactly and it won't calculate.  Not sure why???

Thanks for the code (Pocket Pivot).

There is absolutely nothing wrong the Condition Formula. What specifically makes you say it "won't calculate." Do you get an error message of some sort?

Thanks Bruce. This AM pre-market it was not calculating.  Maybe that was the issue.

Bruce,

What would be the Formula for plotting the Pocket Pivot as an indicator in a chart - showing the days in which it occured including today?

I'm not sure I understand the question. A Condition Formula for the Pocket Pivot was given in my first post in this topic.

C > C1 AND V > ABS(C1 < C2) * V1 AND V > ABS(C2 < C3) * V2 AND V > ABS(C3 < C4) * V3 AND V > ABS(C4 < C5) * V4 AND V > ABS(C5 < C6) * V5 AND V > ABS(C6 < C7) * V6 AND V > ABS(C7 < C8) * V7 AND V > ABS(C8 < C9) * V8 AND V > ABS(C9 < C10) * V9 AND V > ABS(C10 < C11) * V10

You would use the Condition Formula as the Boolean Formula in a Custom PCF % True Indicator to plot spikes on the chart when it returns true.

Bruce, can you provide a PCF for a Pocket Pivot occurring +/- 2% of the 50-day Moving Average?  I'm trying to capture pocket pivots either passing up through, or bouncing off of the 50-day.

Please try the following Condition Formula.

ABS(C / AVGC50 - 1) <= .02 AND C > C1 AND V > ABS(C1 < C2) * V1 AND V > ABS(C2 < C3) * V2 AND V > ABS(C3 < C4) * V3 AND V > ABS(C4 < C5) * V4 AND V > ABS(C5 < C6) * V5 AND V > ABS(C6 < C7) * V6 AND V > ABS(C7 < C8) * V7 AND V > ABS(C8 < C9) * V8 AND V > ABS(C9 < C10) * V9 AND V > ABS(C10 < C11) * V10

Thanks Bruce, could you also provide a PCF for a Pocket Pivot occurring +/- 2% of the 10-day Moving Average?

Please try the following Condition Formula.

ABS(C / AVGC10 - 1) <= .02 AND C > C1 AND V > ABS(C1 < C2) * V1 AND V > ABS(C2 < C3) * V2 AND V > ABS(C3 < C4) * V3 AND V > ABS(C4 < C5) * V4 AND V > ABS(C5 < C6) * V5 AND V > ABS(C6 < C7) * V6 AND V > ABS(C7 < C8) * V7 AND V > ABS(C8 < C9) * V8 AND V > ABS(C9 < C10) * V9 AND V > ABS(C10 < C11) * V10
