Is there a way to scan for stocks with less than say 2 years trading history?

You could create a Custom Date Sort which is just slightly longer than 2 years to check for items that returned ... in the WatchList Column instead of returning a value. One issue is that you would have to use a Time Frame which is longer than Daily in TC2000 version 12.2 because only 500 bars of data are available in each Time Frame.

I couldn't get "custom date sort " to open. Can you write a pcf for me? Thank you. Phil

No indicators or formulas can be made to return the number of bars of data available in a WatchList. A Custom PCF Cumulative Indicator can be made to do so on the chart, but it won't display in the WatchList.

This means you need to have something that requires at least a certain amount of data to calculate and way to check that it isn't calculating when there isn't enough data.

Doing something like C252 = C252 as a formula will check for a symbol having at least 253 bars of data but so would something useful like a 252-Period Price Percent Change formula:

100 * (C / C252 - 1)

Keep in mind that you are looking items which don't have values. I used one year in a Daily Time Frame as an example instead of two years because there are only 500 bars of data in any given time frame. You could use the same formulas with a 2-Day Time Frame to check for at least two years of data.

Custom Date Sort is probably still a cleaner approach. You can select Tools | Custom Date Sort (or use the "shift-T" hot key) to bring up the Custom Date Sort (although the "c" hot key will work if you have Use TeleChart 2007 Hot Keys selected under Tools | System Defaults).
