Using TC2000.
Wanted to add a condition (i.e. column) to my watchlists that I saw in a TC2000 webinar video.
It doesn't exist in the prebuilds for conditions.

I want a condition/column that shows the stk or etf price-change year-to-date.

Can you help me out ?

Thanks,
Jack Merz.

Yearly Return is available as Multiple Columns under Pre-Built Columns. You could then delete all of the extra Columns and then save the YTD %Chg Daily on its own.

You could also create an Indicator Formula and then add it as a WatchList Column.

100 * (C / C'12/31/2010' - 1)

Along the same lines, can someone help me figure out how to create a scan (or a condition ?) that shows me which stocks in a watch-list changed up or down for a certain amount in a particular year. (This may be easy and already answered some where but forgive me, I'm new and this is my first "post"...) For example I've collected a list of stocks I'm researching and I want to filter out stocks that increased by 'x' amount in 2005. Or 'show me all stocks that went down more than y in the year 2007'. maybe even multi year like show me stocks that went up by x one year and then by x+10% the next year. etc.

I would generally suggest just using the Custom Date Sort feature for this in TC2000 version 12.

If you are going to need more than the most recent 500 bars of data, you will need to use TC2000 version 7 instead of TC2000 version 12.

Sorting Stocks by their Absolute or Relative Performance
Industries With Consistent Performance over Specific Time Periods

It is also possible to write Personal Criteria Formulas based on past dates. You may wist to review the following section of the Online Help Files:

Days Ago parameter

There are two distinct ways to use historical data with Personal Criteria Formulas.

Any criteria can be used to scan X number of days back by adding '.XX' where XX is equal to the number of market days past to calculate for. An example of this is (AVGC21.21), which is a 21 day moving average 21 of close, 21 days ago. This use of historical data always refers to the market day XX number of days ago (in this case, 21). If you wish to use a specific date’s data, use the option detailed below.

The other method of using historical data is by specifying a precise date in history to use. For example, (AVGC21.'11/13/08') will provide a 21 day moving average of close for November 13, 2008 (the period should be used in cases where the first method requires a period and not used when the first method does not use a period). Always confirm that the date you wish to use using this parameter was a market day.
