Is there a way to sync version 12 between to computers -- ie; home and office?  I spent a lot of time at home creating workspaces, watchlists, etc. and would like to have them at work.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, there is no "syncing" necessary.

The beauty of TC2000 is that your "workspaces, watchlists, etc." are all saved in "the cloud" (actually a Worden server in North Carolina, or wherever their server farm is located) instead of physically on your home computer or physically on your office computer.

As long as you sign in with the same ScreenName, you should be good to go ... even from your local Starbucks.

The one caveat, of course, is that you need an internet connection to connect to "the cloud", but these days internet access is ubiquitous for most folks.

I hear you Putt.  But it does'nt appear to work that way.  I am not seeing the changes made being crossed over from one computer to another.  But I am not sure I am doing it right.

Please contact technical support.

All e-mail communication sent to support@worden.com during business hours (Monday through Friday 9AM-11PM and Saturday and Sunday 9AM-3PM ET) should be answered within 20 minutes of arrival.

For an even quicker response to tech support questions, we recommend calling our voice line at (919) 408-0542 (there is no phone support on Sundays, some Market Holidays or after 9PM ET on weekdays).

You can also contact us using Live Chat Support during business hours.

Bruce can probably help you out, but one thought for now ...

This week they updated the version builds on both the TC2000 v12 "beta" release and the TC2000 v12 "live" release.

All the stuff you saved to Worden's "cloud" servers should still be there, but you might have two slightly different versions of the software running on your two computers, and for some reason they haven't updated themselves ... I would check the Help/About menu on both computers and see what "build" is running on each.

Ah, Bruce snuck in while I was writing my last post.

I would still compare the two build version numbers ... might save you a phone call ... but if they're identical on both computers it's never a bad idea to contact the experts over at the technical support desk.

Tech helped me with this question

My PC & Laptop were different

Save the copy that you want & save to File - Desktop with a new name

The other machine open File - Open Desktop that has your saved name & your off to the races

When I make any changes - I save the same process

Tech was right on the money & fast

Cool ... thanks for the update and the tip!

That's interesting, and kinda defeats the primary purpose of supposedly storing everything in "the cloud". Sounds like even though your charts, scans, watchlists, PCFs, etc., are stored on one of their servers, your computer's desktop configuration is still stored locally on your machine.

I'll have to experiment with some of my computers when I get a chance.

Wouldn't the desktop need to be stored on the cloud? If I save the desktop on computer#1 and it is stored on the computer, then my other computer wouldn't be able to access it. But I was able to load the same desktop on either computer so it must be stored on the cloud.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

Been mostly away the last week or so, so I haven't tried TC2000 the last few days to try this whole desktop thing on multiple computers.

I'm wondering if some people are confusing the computer's desktop with TC2000's desktop. The TC2000 File menu does have "New Desktop", "Open Desktop", and "Save Desktop" commands, which tells me that that information is stored in the cloud.

I'm guessing we're just getting tangled up in semantics here. Worden has invested too much time, money, and resources into programming this thing to store any of its information locally on one of your physical computers. It just wouldn't make any sense,

I curently just use TC2007. Sometimes before I head north for a weekend at my cabin in the woods (no internet access) I'll update Friday's data on to my laptop then work with the platform which is resident on my harddrive (no need to be connected to the web) while up north.

But if I start using TC2000 v.12, will I need an internet connection, since what I'm gathering here is everthing's stored on the cloud?

Please clarify

IN TC2000 v.12

How do I add my chart descriptions (names for my personal charts I created) to the chart toolbar as an added field?

While in Edit Chart Toolbar, I couldn't find a field under chart controls for adding Chart Descriptions.

Yes, you will need an internet connection to use TC2000 version 12. The name of the Chart Template is not currently available as one of the fields which can be added as a field to the Toolbar.

In TC2000, one of my volume PCF's transfered from Telechart was as follows:

AVGV50 > 5000 - Meaning > 500,000 (two zeros were dropped because 5000 represented 500,000 in volume in Telechart.

Does that still apply in TC2000 or do I need to add two more zeros to get an actual representation of 500,000 in volume?

You need to add two zeros. TeleChart 2007 reports volume in blocks of 100 shares while TC2000 version 12 reports volume in actual shares.

Do you plan on making it possible to plot the sub-ind in the stock charts in TC2000 like you can in TC2007?

I've linked the Sub-Ind Compenents in a watchlist so it switches to the whatever sub industry pertains to the current stock chart I have up, which is a nice feature, but sure wish I could simply plot the line of the morningstar sub-ind as a whole on the stock chart, like we can with the S&P, etc.

Being able to Plot the Industry and Sub-Industry is a planned feature, but I do not know when it is going to be added.

As long as it's in the works, since I still have TC2007.

Thanks Bruce
