I am trying to write a PCF that will serve as a value indicator. By Definition a price to book value of less than "one" would indicate that the stock is undervalued. The basic formula is
Market Price Per Share = Price to Book Ratio.
Book Value per Share
The formula to determine Book Value is:
Total Assets - (Minus) Total Liabilities = Book Value per Share
Number of Shares outstanding
Is the Total Number of Shares outstanding available in the database? If so, how is it represented either in realcode or in a PCF formula.
Thanks

The Price to Book Ratio, Current Book Value per Share and Shares Outstanding are all available already as Indicators in StockFinder Platinum.

I wanted to use this as a sort criteria in the new Telechart 2011.....
It is a little clumsy to bring the watch list over from Telechart to stockfinder and then sort again. Perhaps the book value per share can be included in the updates of TC2011.

I supplied a StockFinder Platinum solution as it is the only product using Realcode and you had indicated you wanted this "either in realcode or in a PCF formula." TeleChart's Personal Criteria Formula Language does not currently have syntax for referencing fundamentals and neither TeleChart nor the TC2000.com version 11 beta currently carries historical fundamentals to use as indicators.
All questions, comments and suggestions related to the TC2000.com version 11 beta should be addressed to:

While the current Book Value per Share is available as a fundamental system criteria in TC2000 which can be used as a sort or in an EasyScan, there is no automated method available to compare the Book Value to Price. The Personal Criteria Formula Language does not have syntax for referencing fundamentals.
