Dear support,Today I lost 265 dollars as Worden/stockfinder did not mention the server reboot of today and the issues concerning the data feed and servers. There were many data freezes and data gaps in stockfinder beta 5 today. When I was in a trade using your charting, at one point, the data froze at least 1 minute. If I knew today that you had issues with your data feed I would have taken the day off. We traders rely on real time data. If there is a delay of even a few seconds this can have very bad consequences for our profitability. I have checked the worden support network status/news and nothing was mentioned about todays issues. I have called support and they confirmed that there are data freezes, because of the reboot of servers. We rely heavily on the quality of your data and I hope in the future you will mention it to us, users, as soon as it occurs. For the suggestion box: Put a bulletin/alert window next to the data status, so when something happens to the software of data feed you can immediately notify us of the situation. This is what Interactive brokers has in its system. Kind regards, thevinman

There is a twitter feed that is listed on the support page (that you can also subscribe to via twitter) to get network notifications on the system status. This will work even if worden.com is down or our entire data center is out.
Your RealTime clock should have stopped in SF when the server went down. We're bouncing around some ideas on how to improve the notification when this happens.

Hello,
I was not watching closely at the time but at 2:49 minute data stopped. The stream was still going. Looked at downloader and it was waiting for packets. Tried to reconnect it was sucessful but no data. This is Stockfinder 5 I downloaded a couple of days ago. It has actually working pretty good. Lots of small changes but not to hard to figure out. Over all a better Stockfinder ( I know the beta fixes are still comming). The "almost real time data" has been working since BLOCKS. This morning just after the open my minute data stopped for a minute or so but it started on its own. You need to know about the problems to be able to fix them. Without price ..........we have nothing.
Thanks, GENE

Please note that this was not just a Worden Brothers issue, but an issue at the major stock exchages NYSE went to entirely human trading for a period.
Many of the most profitable trades have been cancelled and anyone who took profits early was likely left with a possibly unfortunate short position, so the loss of timely information here was a lot smaller than it would seem at first glance.
I'll grant you that this would be very frustrating, though.

Dear Sfjeff,It was a Worden issue, as the data feed issues occurred before the market crashed. I think they changed data feed provider yesterday and had to reboot their servers. Something went wrong and on top of it came the crash. What indeed is important is that the data feeds are working again, though today there were still some bad ticks in some of the stocks. Hopefully on Monday I can start trading again with an excellent data feed.have a great weekend, thevinman
