1. I want to create an oscillator by  taking the change in price from one day to the next and divide it by the current price. Then run a moving average of the data using a ten-day basis.
2 after the oscillator is created, how can you change the vertical scale by inverting it and using a log scale to equate the results more easily to price.

please help to write the forumlas for both telechart and stockfinder.

Thanks

Sherry

Are you attempting to describe the same Absolute Percent Change Indicator mentioned by gregcwilson in Absolute Percentage Change Indicator?

If so, the Absolute Value is a necessity, as without it, the Indicator will not Plot correctly using a Log Scale as the Value could go negative.

In taking both descriptions and combining them, I cannot think of a way to Plot the Indicator as desired in TeleChart.

You should be able to Open an attached Indicator directly into a running copy of StockFinder however (and save it from within StockFinder if desired). You could also copy and paste the Indicator into the \My Documents\StockFinder\(Your Username)\My Indicators\ folder and then load it like you would any other Indicator (for StockFinder 5, use the \My Documents\StockFinder5\(Your Username)\My Indicators\ folder instead).

Thanks for the forumlas.

Can you refer me to the posted topics regarding how  to use ABS or LOG math operators?

Thanks again

The PCF formulation for calculating Standard Deviation topic touches on the use of the LOG() function in TeleChart and the ABS touches on the use of the ABS() function. The PCF Formula Descriptions topic contains a fairly comprehensive list of the syntax that is valid in TeleChart's Personal Criteria Formula Language.
