In the spirit of collaboration, let's all share one of our best / most useful scans. 

Here's a simple scan I use for finding the hot stocks moving on any given day...

basically price up, volume above 50 day volume avg, BOP positive, above 50 dma, and within the top 65% of dollar volume stocks to get me with the more liquid names.

I posted this a long time ago but for those who didn't see it
this is Larry Williams synthetic VIX:
 
((MAXC22-L)/MAXC22)*100
 
It will typically be low at tops and high at bottoms. (like VIX)
 
I don't use it so much as an indicator but more for sorts.
I put Bollinger Bands on it. (Period =100, Width=10)
and do a channel sort looking for stocks that may be
inside or outside of the bands.
(stocks at bullish/bearish turning points)
