- Right-click on the Value Display for Net and Percent Change and select Properties.
- Left-click and drag on the Time Frame input to the Prices Block (where 1-Day goes currently).
- Select Link From Another Tool and choose the Time Frame of the Chart.

Note: The Toolbar is an undocumented tool that is not supported by Worden Brothers, Inc. No tech support will be provided for this operation.

Block Diagrams have been de-emphasized in StockFinder but the Your First 3 Block Diagrams video covers creating Block Diagrams.

Super - thanks.

Is there a way to change it for the stocks in watchlists also?

The same basic technique can be used for the Net Change and Percent Change Watchlist Columns that are available when selecting Load Column.

- Right-click on the Watchlist Column Header and select Block Diagram.
- Left-cilck and drag on the Time Frame input to the Prices Block (where 1-Day goes currently).
- Select Link From Another Tool and choose the Time Frame of the Chart.

Hi Bruce,

I thought it worked (bothf or the upper right hand corner and the watchlist) but it doesn't, I've just found. Happened to have chosen af stock with same close yesterday and open today.

I can easily change to Daily, Weekly etc. in the blocks Select Link From Another Tool, but I have no option that says "Time Frame of the Chart".

Is that correct or should I have such an option?

Just to make sure you understand what I want to do, basically I want the price change in value and percent from open today to now (i.e. 2:19 pm).

So what I want to do has nothing to do with the price of yesterday. Of course, after the market is closed tonight I want it to show the opening and close of today - until the market opens again tomorrow.

Best regards,
Rasmus

You should not have the type of options you mention when selecting Link From Another Tool. The options you mention should be available when selecting Select Block & Connect.

Selecting Link From Another Tool brings up a list of all of the Time Frames supplied as output from another Tool in the current Layout.

Selecting Select Block & Connect brings up a list of all of the available built in Blocks providing a Time Frame.

I thought you wanted to change the Values from a Net Change and Percent Change for Daily Bars to whatever Intraday Bars were currently selected as the Active Time Frame on the Chart.

While your meaning makes sense now, I don't think I ever would have come to an interpretation that matches your actual intent without this additional clarification from just reading the phrase "value and percent change intraday."

A change of this type will require far more extensive editing of the Block Diagrams than was suggested for changing the Time Frame. Once you bring up the Block Diagram for the item in question, you will need to replace the Net Change, Percent Change, Rate of Change and Rate of Change Percent Blocks with a series of Blocks to extract the Bar Open and then subtract it from the Bar Close or divide the Bar Close by the Bar Open and convert it to a Percentage.

You should be able to Open the attached Layout directly into a running copy of StockFinder. It has Open to Close Difference and Open to Close Percent Watchlist Columns based on the built in Net Change and Percent Change Watchlist Columns. It also modified the Daily Change in the upper right-hand corner of the Chart into a Daily Open to Close instead.

You can right-click on the Watchlist Column Headers and select Block Diagram or  right-click on the Daily Open to Close Value Display and select Properties to view their Block Diagrams and the modifications required. You will generally need to left-click and drag and select Select Block & Connect (as you appear to have been doing when attempting to implement my original directions) to add the desired Blocks to the Block Diagrams in your own Layout.

Bruce,

First of all, being a member here for only a week or so, I am blown away by the support that you and others provide to the members - its really fantastic.  Being able to cut and paste examples or download an entire layout such as this one really expedites the learning curve.  I didn't even know about blocks (i don't even want to think about right now lol).  I have a question - i'll put it another topic so that i won't hijack this one..

Bruce; Sorry if I didn't make it completely clear in the first place and thanks very much for the layout. You have been very helpful.

Just to add to Sergios comment: You are very right. Bruce (and Worden in general) provide not only excellent but also lightning fast support. Bruce and the support team: Thank you for awesome support/service. You are doing something that so many other companies claim they do but cannot live up to. You do!
