I bought  StockFinder and managed to setup my charts to the "last stochastic" method as described byStockcharts.

/stoch %K 39, %D 1

?obc Ma 30

I am stumped in sitting the rules to scan, buy and sell.

Buy @ if rising => 20(%? ) stoc     (end of Day?)

Confirmation of OBV Up pass 30Day ma

Sell if  5% of buy price

Sell or close if falling<= 80 (%?) stoc (end of Day or)

Cofirmation of OBV down on 30 day ma

Perhaps give me sample or point o manual.

Thanks,

Chune Lee

I want to be sure I understand the criteria.

You want:

1. Stochastics is above 20 and rising
2. OBV above its own 30-day MA

I don't understand what "Sell if  5% of buy price" means

Do you mean a 5% stop loss?

To sell:

1. Stoc below 80 and falling
2. OBV below the average.

Does this sound correct?

Craig S.

It sounds correct.

5% of entry price stop lost

The OBV is a confirmation of the stoc rising above 20%.

Sell should stoc drop pass 80%.

Thanks for reply.

It sounds correct.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, this assertion and your subsequent clarification would appear to be contradictory. That said, the request is somewhat ambiguous and the assumptions made by me are mostly complete guesses at your intent.

Hopefully the attached Layout will provide a basis for feedback from you that will allow us to better interpret what you actually want.

I can't tell from your reply if you want them to be both true or not. I'm also not sure if this means you are looking for the Stochastic to be crossing up through 20 or if Craig's guess is correct.

I'm going to assume both need to be True and that Craig's guess is completely correct for the Buy Rule.

I'm going to assume this means Stochastics is crossing down through 80, not that is below and falling as guessed by Craig.

StockFinder's default Stochastic is a Full Stochastic. The settings for Stochastics available in StockFinder include the Period, %K, %D Period and Average Type for both %K and %D. Full Stochastics can be used to reproduce both Fast and Slow Stochastics.

Full Stochastic (x,1,y) = Fast Stochastic (x,y)
Full Stochastic (x,y,y) = Slow Stochastic (x,y)

There are other interpretations as well.

Slow Stochastics

Full Stochastic (x,3,y) = Slow Stochastic (x, y)

If going to assume that since you are only providing a %K and not a Stochastic Period that you are using a Slow Simple Stochastic where the 3 is assumed (this assumption was made after searching the internet for last stochastic method although the other details specified in your request are not the same).

You should be able to Open the attached Layout directly into a running copy of StockFinder.
