This site is well worth the visit.  By Worden Brothers, and it has stuff Telechart doesn't have!

Thank to DavidJohnHall for the heads up!

Thanks for tip.  I went to the site and it wanted me to install some type of software I've never heard of, but I didn't because I am so freaking paranoid about what I put on my main trading computer.  Is it safe? Thanks.

Good question.  It is a Microsoft product, so I felt comfortable. As BigBlock said, "We are paid to take risks"

Thanks Mammon, I'll download and play with it after trading hours.  I just did a quick google search and it appears well documented as a safe Microsoft product.

So why pay for Telechart if you get this site for free? What can this site do that Worden can't?

I don't believe you can scan and you can't create pcfs or sort.  I'll be using bestfreecharts as a backup or when I'm away from my computer that has my telechart on it.

for starters, it doesn't perform scans or sorts,  or give industry and sector groups.

Yes, that''s a biggie.
Worden's  industry and sector groups break downs are a very important aspect.
If this other site can't offer that, nothingelse matters.

Ok for playing is that is all you do at the office.  I surely wouldn't trust any heavy bet on FREE data.
Well I just don't trust Free data at all.
The mission of Free Charts is not to provide you accurate, and reliable data.  Their mission is to display all the marketing material that you see there - that is where their revenue comes from -not your trades.
A single bad trade due to bad data could easily be equivalent to what you pay for Telechart or Stockfinder for a few years of service.

Have you thought about that?

I try to keep my lot size under 100,000 shares
when trading off of free data.

Thanks

The best charting software in the world (TeleChart) is only a couple hundred $$ a year. If you cannot afford that price then you should not be live in the markets and risking your micro account anyway..

In reference to the "Penny Stock" thread, Diceman, you may need the 100,000 shares.......

I applaud Worden for exploring new tools and interfaces (Web)... but maybe I am just too "Old School".... I still find Telechart Gold immensely useful and gratifying to use.  It is so quick!!!

I think BestFreeCharts may merely add a different tool or option for analyzing stocks..."right tool for the right job."  Maybe more flexibility... IF that is what you need.
