While it should be possible to construct this in StockFinder, I do not know of a way to do this in TeleChart. The Personal Criteria Formula Language does not have syntax for referencing other symbols or fundamentals.

jonedyer,

Division by an oscillator like C - AVGC126 causes problems including possibly a division by zero.  In order to see the problem, please construct a Custom Indicator with Indicator Formula:

(1/(C-AVGC126))*100

Since Beta = 1 for SP-500, the problem is faithfully illustrated by observing SP-500 on Zoom = 1.

In order to further illustrate the problem of sorting a watchlist by:

(beta/(C-AVGC126))*100,

approximations were made to sort the approximately 6350 stocks which had sufficient data for the computation.  On 01/19/09, the symbol FSN had next to the lowest sort value, and, on 01/20/09, it had seventh from the highest sort value.  Whatever the objective, such changes are likely unacceptable.

Thanks,
Jim Murphy

Thank you for your information. According to what I have read, a 22 week period for alpha of an ETF or stock divided by standard deviation gave the best return. Can alpha be found with TC2005?

jonedyer,
Alpha is not available as one of TeleChart's built in System Criteria.

Definitions of all built in scanning and sorting criteria
