Hi folks, I am interested in seeing what sorts of stocks people are looking at for short candidates.  I see a lot of the financial stocks are probably mostly bottomed out, most of the downdraft is over at least.

So I am wondering what stocks are standing out that are more run of the mill that look like they could making some bear moves over the next few months.  Thanks.

take a look at worden notes, if the stocks haven't bottomed there could be more down side. also look at other stock in the group (sectors) that have held up. pot was in the notes a while back. pot had a good move down a few days ago. its all free it comes with the service.

Shorting may be real interesting ... I just looked at a quarterly chart for the past 20 years.
Am I seeing a massive double top, comparing Oct, 2007 with March 2000?
What do you think?

BAT:   stocks in a downtrend, but have pulled back (up) to the top bollinger band .     i like looking at a line chart to draw line of support and resistance and channels.  like you say, don't want to pick big decliners to short them,  always have to be able to pawn them off on someone who doesn't know any better.  that's harsh but better  them than you.     don't know if you read alot , but Wm. O"neil's book,  "HOW TO MAKE MONEY SELLING STOCKS SHORT"   shows alot of good topping patterns.  it doesn't go into alot of details like his HOW TO MAKE MONEY IN STOCKS.     only 200 pages, alot of charts, pictures, not alot of reading.  not alot of technicals, that's left up to you.  he uses volume to help with decision making.

Tip:  Any stock with a lot of debt, that goes under $2, will almost always go under or at least test $1.
