When I have the MoneyStream indicator and this formula MS1 > (MS1.1 * 2) in the same lower chart, they don't seem to correspond all of the time. It is supposed to show when money is suddenly flowing into a stock. On a 30 minute chart it sometimes fires 30 minutes too late (GTI 30 min.chart at end of 4/30/08 and into 5/1/08 for example). On other charts, such as ADVS, it fires when the MS line is going down which makes no sense at all (30 min chart at start of 4/30/08).
 
Why isn't this working properly? It is such a simple formula that I don't understand why it wouldn't work.

It doesn't work because MoneyStream is a cumulative indicator. The actual value of MoneyStream doesn't mean anything. It can be positive or negative and will vary based on the amount of data used in its calculations. You may wish to review the following:
