Can Linear Regression lines be used to identify divergence between price and an indicator? What period (number of bars) would provide the best results? I'm looking for a quick way to spot divergence when flipping through a watch list of stocks.

You may wish to review the following:

Using Linear Regression Sorts to Help Spot Divergences
Learn to quickly identify when price and volume are in or out of step
Using Linear Regression vs Classical Peaks/Valleys for Divergence Analysis

The trainers can't give setting, interpretation or investment advice.
