Hi:
I use the above PCF with an easy scan. What I notcied is that everyday, the "number" of stocks has been "going up". Why is that the case.I would think that the stocks on 08/22/2006 that meet that criteria can only go down because some of those stocks may no longer be listed.

I can't really think of a reason it would be increasing unless the issue described by bustermu in Date Designation Bug is having an effect.
Hopefully the experiment you described in C >= .85 * MAXH252 will yield some useful data.

I have checked the PCF and find nothing wrong with it. I did find problems with the updating of it and other PCFs.
WatchList A was constructed from the All Stocks WatchList for 01/08/08 EOD data using:
C'08/22/06' >= 0.85 * MAXH252.'08/22/06'
WatchList B was constructed from the All Stocks WatchList for 01/10/08 10:39 AM ET data using:
C'08/22/06' >= 0.85 * MAXH252.'08/22/06'
The symbol DNBK was in WatchList B but not in WatchList A. This symbol shows no data at all. Some other PCFs also show values for this symbol in Tab Columns but not when tested. After a later PCF recalculation. neither the above PCF nor its negation exhibit a value in their Tab Column for DNBK, but some other PCFs still do.
When any PCF is tested on DNBK the result is "Error in Formula Syntax" even though there is no such error.

My experiment is going fine so far and I like the results. What I need to do tonight is follow your instructions and figure out how to download the stock prices (open, high, low, & close) on a particular day, say for PCF C'08/22/2006' >=0.85*MAX252.'08/22/06', and check the results with my other source to make sure everything is working fine.

I do not find DNBK in other sources. Is it safe then to conclude that the data should not change. The symbol was there on 1/8/08, but was not there on 1/10/08. ?

I downloaded again on 01/10/08 3:51 PM ET and there are no problems with any PCFs. DNBK is an IPO today and now has data. The WatchLists from 01/08/08 and 01/10/08 now agree.
As previously stated, I have not found anything wrong with the PCF:
C'08/22/06' >= 0.85 * MAXH252.'08/22/06'
I would be surprised if you find anything wrong with it.
At least we know that a symbol with no data can cause a problem.

It may be that my intraday download caused the problem and that it can never happen for an EOD download?

It is possible. I've actually been playing with this to see if I can reproduce the issue and haven't been able to do so. I almost never do an intraday update in TeleChart except to work on a customer question however. It looks like I will need to test that as well.

My bet is that what I saw was an isolated incident and neither of us will ever see it again. A symbol with no data? I certainly hope not.

But it happened with me. I noticed the difference last night after I updated. I did not exported the stocks between the two dates otherwise I would know exactly which ones dropped off or were new. I will see if it happens again.
