I was told you can write for me a formula. I  need to find out the stocks at a particular time that come up in an easy scan. For example, say I have a formula for 52 week highs in the S&P.  I want to look at stocks that meet that criteria at whatever date, say 1/12005, 1/12006, 1/1/2007. etc...

Let me know if you can or cannot provide this.

There are two distinct ways to use historical data with Personal Criteria Formulas.

Any criteria can be used to scan X number of days back by adding '.XX' where XX is equal to the number of market days past to calculate for. An example of this is (AVGC21.21), which is a 21 day moving average 21 of close, 21 days ago. This use of historical data always refers to the market day XX number of days ago (in this case, 21). If you wish to use a specific date’s data, use the option detailed below.

The other method of using historical data is by specifying a precise date in history to use. For example, (AVGC21.'12/31/97') will provide a 21 day moving average of close for December 31, 1997 (the period should be used in cases where the first method requires a period and not used when the first method does not use a period). In this particular case, December 31 is the last trading day of that specific year. This will not always be the case. Always confirm that the date you wish to use using this parameter was a market day.

Bruce:
The PCF I was looking for is: C'07/26/07' >= 0.85*MAXH252.'07/26/07'

Yesterday I used :C'07/26/07' >= 0.85*MAXH252.'07/26/07'.
However, in the chart, at the top right hand corner blinking RED, the date that showed up was NOT 07/26/2007. The day and month were off, the year was correct. Why is that the case. How can I get the correct date, and month as well to show up.

I would like to see the chart pattern of stocks that I am looking at on 07/26/07.

Thanks.

William

The Past Chart Date that you are describing has absolutely nothing to do with any Personal Criteria Formulas that you might have in TeleChart. It merely reflects the date on the far right of the chart when you have scrolled the charts to view anything besides the most current data. You may wish to review the following:

I notice that you are quite new to TeleChart. You may also wish to review the If you are new to TeleChart READ THIS FIRST! topic to help you utilize you better utilize TeleChart to its fullest.

Please try this PCF:
C’7/26/07’ >= 0.85 * MAXH252.’7/25/07’

Hi Winnie:
The PCF C’7/26/07’ >= 0.85 * MAXH252.’7/25/07’ is what I was looking for and it works. BUT the Chart that comes up has a date and month in the top RH corner of Chart which is NOT  07/26. I would like to look at the chart pattern of those stocks on 07/26/2007.

I take a look at the above links.

Thanks.

William,

Construct a Custom Indicator with:

0.85*MAXH252

and check "Plot using price scale".

Scroll so that you view any dates you please.  If the Close is above the Custom Indicator for a bar, the PCF is True for the date of the bar.

Thanks,
Jim Murphy
