I want to avoid opening any position in 30 mins of opening so I used Time Of Day > 10. I think I'm doing it right but block diagram of this Time Of Day seems disconnected.

Wondering if anyone reported this.
Thanks

If you look at block diagram of "Time Of Day" you would notice it too.
Forgot to mention that I use mega minutes.

Everything in the Block Diagram seems to be connected when I add this Strategy Condition to a Strategy on my computer besides the Test Symbol. Time of Day does not rely on the Test Symbol for its calculations. Are you seeing something different?

I was just adding it in Add Condition and it did not work. Then I saw block diagram which had 3 pieces all disconnected. Is there any documentation on how to use this 'Time Of Day'?

There isn't any documentation for this Strategy Condition yet. Please try re-adding the Time Of Day Strategy Condition. The only Block that should not be connected to anything is the Test Symbol.

If you change = to > or < then it creates one disconnected block in block diagram. I removed those and connected them.

I use Mega Minutes 5 Min chart. If you add this block to any condition, it will never return true.

Dear Newinvestorlearning,

I think I gave you the pre-release version, correct? Do you have this same problem in the release version or in both programs?

It is with both versions. pre-release is doing same thing. see below image.

At this time I'm not much concerned about extra block. I can remove it but time of day should work.

That is a bit strange. I think this could be releated to the problem you are having with the missing history beyond March 2007. You may want to give tech support a call so that they can give you a utility that will replace your minute data. Try that and see if this issue does not clear up as well.

The number is 919-408-0542 and they are open today until 3:00 PM.

I called Tech Support and they guided me to fix he history issue. By default it was showing 10000 bars. System->Blocks Data Manager->Limit Bars to setting fixed it.

Time of Day seems separate issue.

Can any of you just add this block Time of Day to your condition and see if filters out something.

Thanks.

newinvestorlearning,
You may wish to review the following topic (and possibly try downloading the Strategy Conditions presented there):

BackScan for specific hours of trading day?

I posted question in original thread. The block you uploaded works good for = . It does not work if I change to < or >. So lets say if my condition is time HH:MM <10:30
then logic could be

If HH = 10 then check MM < 30.
If HH < 10 then condition is always true.
If HH >10 then condition is always false.

I'm trying to code above logic but can't find IF block.

Thanks.

newinvestorlearning,
I have not figured out a way to do this using the built in Time Blocks (this does not mean it cannot be done), but I posted a Strategy Condition in the original topic built around a Custom Code Block that seems to work correctly on my system.
