Scottnlena, and others exploring the momemtum and ROC indicators with this picture I am trying to explain the best possible way, how to find momemtum before it has run its course. Please bear in mind that this is not a perfect example, and that I do not have a lot of time to put this things together. And also that there is never a perfect example in real world (juist in theory), but I hope that this makes a little clearer what it is all about. good luck.

BigBlock,
Please explain the graph Momentum18,8 and 28,12what does the value [2] and [2.03]represent. Also in the values in the volume [9,375,696] Are you using Blocks to generate this chart?
If this is too much trouble just point me in the right direction
Thank you Amp

WOA ... that is subtle.. the divergence is what gave it away at first .. Momentum is so jagged and almost looks like it matches price at first glance But that formation is riddled with momentum leading price clues... they don't jump out and slap me but they are there. HMMM.
How sucess ful are you at seeking out momentum? so far I have been mostly trying to get into good decision points or entries that may be a bit above the 20ma and if and when momentum comes it is like cream on the top. I do have a momentum scan that came with my original training.. and it finds allot..but most of what it finds is already moving... and in some market creates allot of whipsaws. But those happen in any weak market.

So as another example USO with ROC, which I understand is nearly exactly like "momentum" (the indicator). i'm using ROC 12. Shos a positive divergence now... TSV does not. that is for the lows of april and may.

amp39 look at the yellow tags on the rigth edge of the chart . The numbers your refer to are just the level at with the indicators are within their scales. The 9,375,.. is just the amount of shares traded for the particular stock at the time I took the pick of the chart. I am not sure what you mean by blocks to generate the chart. There are only 2 ways to generate a chart in real time that is by ticks, or by time (1mi, 5min, etc).

What he means is that your chart looks different from the TC main page.. Are you using Blocks Player to generate the chart.

Just use ROC. It is the same as momentum as far as you are concerned. The only difference is in formulation which produces same output. good luck.

"momentum" is available through blocks... but ROC is nearly the same thing.
