I just signed up today and am disappointed that telechart only has 3 screens. Stockcharts.com allows several different screens to place indicators. I don't like the fact that I have to cram volume in with price, and RS with an MACD that is missing a histogram, balance of power must be crammed in with something else. All I want is a separate price window, separate volume window, separate MACD lines with histogram window, RS window and money flow windows. Why is this not possible?

I must be doing something wrong. Please help!

In TeleChart, a chart has exactly three panes. It is possible to use layouts to have four charts and to add a floating layout with four charts of its own for a total of 24 panes.

MACD plots as a Histogram when Plot MACD as Histogram is checked in the Indicator Settings.

Personal Chartist for Blocks Player allows you to plot as many Panes as you want in a Chart.

You should also note the Chart Templates and how easy it is to design and switch between them

Customize your charts using Chart Templates
Adding, removing and saving indicators to a chart template
Chart template saving options in the Tools | System Settings menu

Note that Tools for the Blocks Player allow as many panes as you like.

I downloaded the Blocks but then deleted it from my computer. The main reason I decided to subscribe to Worden Brothers Telechart was to have an all in one program. I've been going from msn.money powersearches to Ameritrade's Advanced Analyzer and then over to Stockcharts.com and I really thought Telechart would contain everything I need. But at this point I like stockcharts.com and advanced analyzer better because everything is right there for you to use and you don't have to take weeks to study how to use it or become a computer software programmer. Why don't you guys make this software more user friendly? And include more built in scans including ones from your competition. You'd get so many more customers this way.

Have you watched the beginner tutorial videos yet? You can do so much with TeleChart without writing anything close to "programming".

SwingTradingtoday, My two cents: It took me a while to learn telechart but once you do, it is an effective program and very good at things like custom sorting. Also, it has a good base of other users who will help with pcfs and easyscans since the trainers dont give investment advice. The trainers, Criag and Bruce in particular, though are excellent for what they do provide in terms of service and support. My personal opinion is telechart is better than blocks, which I have found too complex for me to be useful. Think it has has potential but too difficult to learn.

Assuming your really want to learn...I give up so quickly with Blocks Player.I know I'm not very bright but to learn to trade from a charting system in one day is a bit ambitious.
All charting systems take time to learn. You may be comparing your familiarity with others to the "newness" of TCNet.

I would give Telechart more time.

Canned scans may seem simple but they are also rigid
and inflexible. (you "must" use what they give you and
nothing else)

The whole concept of telechart is not to be a canned indicator.
If offers flexibility. It allows you to scan for what you want
exactly how you want.

You have the ability to scan not only for "standards".
PE, Volume, earnings, market cap (and so on).

You can also scan for technicals, patterns, indicator
conditions, historical indicator conditions, indicator
sorts. Even for indicators of your own creation.

Add to that the "management capabilities" of notes and
custom watchlists and it becomes something unique.

Thanks

My three cents.. Telechart is voted the best bang for the buck for like a deckade runing for a reason. If you are new to trading and charting it can seem overwhelming.... I've been using Telechart nearly everyday for the last two years now and I still learn new stuff about it and what it will do. Blocks is nice as well in terms of other types of analysis and different indicators that can be easily compared a different chart..For example you could plot the percentage of stocks making a new low by what ever time frame you specify in what ever index or industry group you specify. The real power I have feeling comes from blocks accesories. The fundamental data feed and the backscanner. but Telechart by its self is sopowerful that those other things are icing on the cake.

I have all my function keys set to a different chart template for different time frames for quick keying through... pluss unlimited more can be saved individually under the chart template scroll down. More power comes from the proprietary indicators you arent going to get through a free service. If I lost telechart I'd close my trading account.
