I'm thinking of upgrading to Platinum service on a trial basis. I don't see many users of Platinum service posting here. Are there any opinions available?
Note: I tried searching but the server gave me repeated errors as I went back in time: (Server Error in '/training' Application. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MP,
The main reason you do not see many platimum users here is that we are always communicating within TC platinum. We have our own forums, chats, chart sharing, etc so we only usually check here if we cannot get help inside (which most users are very helpfull on). It depends what you are looking for to give you an answer of whether it is worth it. There are some great traders there as well as alot of newbies. Try the trial and decide for yourself. I joined for the intraday charts, but I get alot more out of it than that at this point. cheers, Greg

Greg,
Thanks for the response.
I already have real time intraday charts through brokerage platforms, so I was looking for more detail as to what else would be provided by Platinum. I am primarily selling overvalued stocks short on a very short term holding -- less than a day to a week or two, although I also trade from the long side in my non-marginable IRA account.
Is there much activity from the short seller's side in Platinum?
What specificaly do you feel you get at this point?
Thanks.
Mark

As GG says, not many Platinum folks hang around out here. I have both my brokerage real time and esignal, but I would not give up TCnet. Just the chat in the First Wave club more than makes up for the cost.
Yes, there are lots of short sellers, option players and future traders. Many of whom trade full time.

I'm considering an upgrade to Platinum myself.
Can anyone give me an idea of how many (round number) participants are active in the various Platinum forums/chat groups?
Also, about what percent of Platinum users are position traders/trend followers vs. day and swing traders? The ability to network and share ideas in a civil environment is very appealing. I just want to make sure there more than a couple traders that trade in my time frame.
TIA,
JG

We cannot disclose any real numbers (as you can understand).
We also have no way to measure trading styles of the members.
I can tell you that the chats/clubs are VERY active. There are clubs for almost all trading styles.

Platinum is not worth it unless you subcribe to a club. Many clubs require you to take additional seminars (additional cost) so that you understand what they are talking about. I was drawn in by the "Peter Worden" club, but there is never any traffic in that group.

Thousands upon thousands of people use Platinum and are not members of clubs that require additional financial burdens. There are many very active free clubs in Platinum.
When you go to the Join A Club, take a look at the number of memebers and the activity in the club to get an idea of the traffic.
