I've tweaked my entry point strategy so that I can enter these positions pre-breakout. I spotted VDSI during one of IBD's free Research Package weeks with the screeners available. It had just tapered down off the 52 week high of 12.49 on below average volume (extremely important) and bounced off the 50 day MA so I picked up some on Nov. 29 @11.23.
I had to wait patiently for it to start moving but it has paid off. I've found alot of these situations that work out very well. After a strong uptrend from a bottom the first test of the 50 dma can be a nice entry point. But the key is low volume on the pullback and ideally good volume on the bounce back above the 50 dma.
I do feel the stock has gotten ahead of itself but fundamentally speaking looks like a very good longer term play.

Lovin' the white background with the black open and solid candlesticks - the way I learned them. By the way, I can't seem to find a way to add a 50 day average daily volume line on the bottom across the volume bars. Can this be done?

I'm referring to the size issue and also getting the correct color for the current bar. I read that the colors were determined by the previous bar instead of the open/close of the current bar.
