Topic: Easyscan using two different timeframes
Posted: Friday, June 6, 2014 4:58:32 PM

Thanks.  How do I set up the scan to look for only those stocks whose weekly stochastics are rising (i.e. this week's sochastic is reater than that two weeks ago)?

I want to write an easyscan that includes criteria at two different chart timeframes.  The scan is to look for stocks which have a stochastic crossover on a daily chart, and stochastics on the weekly chart that are going up.  The first criterion is already in the program, but the latter has me stumped; I also don't know how to integrate them both in one scan.

I am confused; when you say "select Create Condition" do you mean click on "Add Condition to Filter"?  If so, I can't find the desired condition in any of the lists of conditions.  The only condition that I can find that is close to what I want is "vigorous ma cross"; is that the one you are referring to?

How do I scan for prices going through a moving average on a 3 day chart in StockFinder?

In your video of October 27, 2004 by Doug H., titled "Comparing Indicators Using Visual Difference Sorts", he stated that you can sort on Stochastics, which I take to mean the %D and %K crossovers since the other visual sorts involve crossovers of moving averages.  I tried to do this but couldn't.  Please help me figure out what to do.

Is there any way to scan for the most volatile stocks to use for swing trading?

What do you mean by "will not visually appear to match your description"?  If the stochastics plot isn't what I want, doesn't that mean that the price movement also isn't what I want?

Bruce:  I apologize for any ambiguity in the question.  What I meant is I want to do a scan every day that will pick up, on a 3 day chart, those stocks where %K for that day or any of the previous 5 days is below 20 and that day's %K is above the previous day's %K.

Bruce:  In my question I said I wanted to scan on a 3 day chart; which do you consider this to be -- days or bars?

The stochastic is the 40.5 simple.
