Under DATABANK (at the top of the program) you will see the export to MetaStock option. Let us know if you have any trouble setting it up.

MetaStock is designed for backtesting and you can use TeleChart/Worden as a data source.

Can I import also all the data file from TC2000 2005 version to Metastock 9.0? Is this the same condition for older versions?

What about TC2000 for mutual funds? Does still offered for Worden?

You can export to MetaStock. Here is a video to check out:

Exporting data to text format - comma, space or tab delimited

You can still order TCFunds by calling 800.776.4940

We would love to... but Equis refuses to release their new format to use. We've lobbied to gain access and for permission to use it and they refuse.

I recommend contacting them so they can get a sense of how many of their customers use us as their data source. Things got messy when Rueters bought them... they would rather you use them as the data source.

I know of no limit for time. The 255 is a ticker limit.

Is this correct that there is problem with exporting?

It is not a problem. It is a limit on MetaStock's side. The only format they allow us to export to limits the number of stocks per folder to 255.

Backtesting is looking at conditions in the past and see how stocks acted afterwards.

Another option is to use Amibroker with the TC2005 data. The software reads the TC2005 database directly so you do not have to perform any data export. Many have stated that they like AB over Metastock for a number of reasons, including backtesting.

I did the smart export, first for all stocks, it seems that only the first 255 can be exported, so from A to ALSC.

After that I try to exporet my watchlist via smart export, but it seems that data read by metastock is still A through ALSC

Can you describe in detail how to export data to metastock therefore I can use telechart 2005 for my datasource as well

By the way, I am platinum subscriber to TC, can I use the data for metastock 9.1 RT?

You are limited to 255 symbols per folder. You will want to limit the lists you export to this number.

This is a limit placed on us by Equis by their refusal to release their new data format to us (they are now owned by a data provider).

As a work around, you can export TeleChart to TEXT and then import the TEXT file and you will not face the 255 symbol limit.

TeleChart RT data cannot be used by MetaStock.

Have you looked at SnapSheets yet? For information, videos and to download SnapSheets, please check out the SnapSheets Web Site

you can alternativly use 2 programs mldownloader and rtqdatadownloader to feed data to your metastock realtime and EOD , check out this site (url removed by Moderator) you may find what you are looking for.

I have not used them, but I have had people say that it works well with metastock.
