Hi,

I have two questions

Question 1) Iam looking to setup a scan with following conditions

1. Price is above 20 EMA

2. Price is above 50 SMA

3.Price is above 200 SMA

3. Average volume past 30 days is above 300,000 shares

4. Average True Range (ATR) of past 14 days is greater than 0.75

5. RSI (14) is greater than 60.

Question 2) I compared values of RSI (14) and ATR (14) in worden chart and on finviz.com, it seems to be two different values. However, RSI (14) value on finviz.com and stockcharts.com is exactly the same for a given stock. Why is there a discrepancy on worden charts?

Thanks for your help.

I am guessing you are using a Wilder's smoothed RSI in finviz.com and stockcharts.com and a plain RSI in TC2000.

A Condition Formula using the plain RSI and simple smoothed ATR used in TC2000 could bewritten as follows in TC2000 v17.

C > XAVGC20 AND C > XAVGC50 AND C > XAVGC200 AND AVGV30 > 300000 AND ATR14 > .75 AND RSI14 > 60

A Condition Formula using a Wilder's smoothed RSI with Wilder's smoothing on the ATR can be written as follows.

C > XAVGC20 AND C > XAVGC50 AND C > XAVGC200 AND AVGV30 > 300000 AND XAVG(ATR, 27) > .75 AND WRSI14 > 60

You need to set the List to Scan of the EasyScan to use a WatchList without Exchange Traded Funds in it. US Common Stocks will normally work for this as there is a separate Exchange Traded Funds WatchLists.

It is possible to exclude symbols by creating a Personal WatchList copy of the US Common Stocks WatchList and then removing symbols from it. You may wish to review the following topic for information on how to create a Personal WatchList based on the US Common Stocks WatchList which eliminates Closed End Funds as an example

Thank you. is it possible to create industry group rankings like how IBD (investors.com)/marketsmith creates one?

Like how they are able to rank an industry group based on 1 week, 1 month,3month and 6 onth performance? can we create that in tc2000?

I am actually not quite sure what you mean. A 1 week price percent change can be written as follows in a daily time frame.

100 * (C / C1 - 1)

A month would be:

100 * (C / C21 - 1)

3 Months would be:

100 * (C / C63 - 1)

And 6 months would be:

100 * (C / C63 - 1)

The IBD Relative Strength combines 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and a year into a single formula and then ranks it.

40 * C / C63 + 20 * C / C126 + 20 * C / C189 + 20 * C / C252 - 100

A similar formula combining 1 week, 1 month, 3 month and 6 months would be:

40 * C / C5 + 20 * C / C21 + 20 * C / C63 + 20 * C / C126 - 100

You can just use the desired formula as a WatchList Column and sort.

The TC2000 v17 tutorial videos are here.

TC2000 v17 Tutorial Videos

And the TC2000 v12 tutorial videos are here (most are applicable to v17 as well).

TC2000 v12 Tutorial Videos

There are general videos about creating WatchList Columns and sorting by WatchList Columns.

There really isn't one for TC2000 v17 which would be directly applicable to creating a WatchList Column for a new formula.

That said, it is pretty much just Add Column (+ in orange circle at top of WatchList), choose Write New Formula, and then copy and paste the formula into the big window.

You would probably want to give it a name before selecting OK.

C > MAXH63.1 AND V > AVGV50

A trendline drawn in one time frame is generally going to show up in all time frames unless the charts have different drawing boards selected or Only > x% chart is selected and the trendline covers less than x% of the chart.

Note that both endpoints of the trendline need to be contained within the available data for a time frame in order for the trendline to appear in that time frame.
