I watchd this and love this layout.

http://www.worden.com/videos/index/169

I want to look at a trading strategy that rotates sector based ETFs basd on relative strength.  Is it possible to create an index based on a basket of tickers to compar each unit against?

I'm assuming not.  So Id be using this layout and watching for the new leaders.  What would be the best way to measure increasing upward momentum in a sort column?

It is not possible to create your own index based on an arbitrary list of symbols such as a WatchList in TC2000.

You probably just add a Rate of Change Percent indicator to the chart, adjust its period as desired and use it as a WatchList Column to sort your list of symbols.

A more complicated variation on this would involve adding a Relative Strength indicator to the chart as well and changing the Data Source of the ROC% indicator to use the Relative Strength indicator instead of price.

This would put a value on how much the active symbol was outperforming the relative strength symbol over the period of the ROC% indicator. That said, the actual sort order of the more complicated version should be the same, so it may not be worth the extra effort (and this will also only work in the newest versions of TC2000 v16).

Wait I could create a seperat "bottom tab" for that strategy which is run in a seperate account.  then create a tab for each item in the fixed basket of etfs and then plot the "Vs." lines for its counterparts.

You can create versus lines for each comparison you want to make between any two symbols.

What you can't do and what I thought you wanted to do based on your question is create a composite symbol or a sort of artificial index based on an arbitrary list of stocks to use for a comparison.

You can add Relative Strength indicators to the chart as many times as you want with the relative strength symbol set to something different in each Relative Strength indicator. This would normally plot the RS of the main symbol on the chart to the RS symbol set for each indicator (what is used in the denominator).

But, you can also use Change Data Source to set a different main symbol. You would start by adding a plot of the symbol to the chart in its own pane, and then change the Data Source to use the chart of the symbol. This will then use that symbol as the numerator in the RS indicator.

How to change the data source for an Indicator

I have downloaded an archived webnar from your site but after unzipping it I am unable to run it on windows 7 with any of the freely available software such as VLC, Swiff, or Irfan player. Please recommend the software to view your webnars. Thanks

Have you unzipped the file?

I downloaded the following Webinar.

12/17/2013 - EasyScans for Your Favorite Setups - Breakouts, Consolidations & Divergences
To download the webinar for offline viewing click here.

Once I have done so I can play EasyScan121713 in all of the browsers I have tried with Adobe Flash Player installed. This worked only when the folder was already extracted.

I was also able to play Easyscan121713.mp4 in a variety of video programs including VLC and Windows Media Player. I was even able to just click on this in the zipped folder and it opened in the Movies and TV app in Windows 10.

Thanks Bruce for the reply. Perhaps in my Windows 7 PC some adverisement-blocking or antivirus program was preventing me to run the downloaded and extracted webnar in the browser. I downloaded the same to Windows 10 PC and now it works fine in Mozillla Firefox browser.
