I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Do you want to find out if the current range and volume are greater than the average volume over some period of time (the following Personal Criteria Formula is for 21-bars):

V > AVGV21 AND H - L > AVGH21 - AVGL21

That the current range and volume are greater than some multiple of average volume over some period of time (the following Personal Criteria Formula is for double the average range and volume over the previous 30-bars):

V > 2 * AVGV21 AND H - L > 2 * (AVGH21 - AVGL21)

Or something else?

Thank you.  That's a help.  Probably tough to help someone unsure of what they're looking for..  I simply observe that often before a breakout the daily price rane narrows down, sort of like the Bollinger Bands contracting.  Then, if the range expands and the volume expands, might be something worth checking out.  Any other ideas welcome.  Thanks again for this

The trainers can't give setting, interpretation or investment advice, but I would recommend asking a similar question in the Stock and Market Talk forum where other traders are more likely to see it and comment about specific conditions for which you might wish to search.
