CRAIG S
I noticed that this chart gives a 1-1-09 starting point. Since I've not gotten my June TASC magazine, I'd like to know if there is any particular reason why this chart has a starting point at all.
Perhaps, it's due to the complexity of the calculation?
Is there any reason limiting my ability to use an earlier date?
( PS Based only on a quick visual check of a few stocks, it's interesting how well is seemes to work visually on some stocks and badly on others. Sounds like it's worth reading the article and trying some more work on this - like a backtest. )
Nice learning tool, too as you have annotated the chart automatically......

The calculation has a starting point because the example in the article has a starting point. There is no other reason. The RealCode would have been simpler without it.

Hi Bruce,
I am trying to display a longer period than 2009. How do I do that? I modified the StartYear to 2008 but nothing changes. Is there anything else to adapt?

rlouis,
You shouldn't have to do anything besides changing the date (all of the TS Indicators change dynamically when I do so). If that doesn't work, you might want to try left-clicking on the green arrow under Refresh Rate in the Main tab of the Edit window to force the Indicator to refresh (it's the same window where you changed the dates for Indicator).
The only other thing that immediately comes to mind is to check under Settings | Data Manager to make sure the Number of Bars is high enough to go back that far.

Thanks Bruce. My mistake was to change the date in the code itself (not yet familiar with user input!) Now it works fine.

rlouis,
You're welcome. The RealCode only sets the initial values.
