January 2009 Issue of Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities (page 66) suggests a simple ETF trading strategy:

1.  ETF is above 200 day MA
2.  ETF closes at a seven-day low.  (Buy on close)
3.  Exit when ETF closes at a seven day high.

I am having difficulty with painting the chart for #2 and #3 above.  I am setting prices to "New High" 1 of 7 bars, but I am getting to many results.  Can you help with the rule/condition for establishing #2 and #3?

What did you set the New Low period to?  It should be set to 7 and the bars to 1 of 1 if you want to find ETFs making a new 7 bar low right now.

I shared a Layout with a Backscan setup using the criteria above.  I combined #1 and #2 into combo condition to Buy when above the 200 bar ma AND making a new 7 bar low.  The Layout is titled lescohn_37339.

The Layout  is shared within StockFinder.  Click the Shared Items button on the toolbar, then click Browse other users shared items and Search the Layout tab for lescohn.

I'm sorry - I didn't notice this is StockFinder. Can you provide the scan for TC? Thanks again.

Can this strategy be back tested in StockFinder?  If so, what are the limitations on back testing?

Thanks

efdtrader,
The Layout Shared by StockGuy already has a BackScan as part of the Layout.
