I wrote a simple strategy and then plotted its equity curve. Can I create a new chart with the same strategy but which can access the equity curve in the first chart? I only one to take trades when the equity line is above is 10 bar simple moving average.

You can't do it on the same chart because each back scanner iteration changes the equity curve which changes the buy/sell signals which changes the equity curve in a perpetual loop.

I've tried it and it seems to work (although I have not done an exhaustive examination of the results).

Just select BackScanner again to create a second instance and use the Conditions you created by Dragging and Dropping the Equity Line from the first BackScanner as Rules in the second BackScanner. You will need to be careful to not confuse the Plots from different BackScanners (you may wish to right-click on them and select Properties to change the Legends so they are different).

Thks again. It seems to work. I plotted equity on the first chart and created a 2nd chart with a condition that used the equity plot off the first.

                              Cool!

A unique second order indicator hard to even conceive of without Blocks!

This is a fine example of unique thinking combined with the ease of Blocks indicator creation producing a very interesting result.

I could imagine someone making a request of a programmer to produce from scratch the equivalent and coming back with a 3 month estimate just for that indicator!
