The easiest way to find information about setting up the indicators is using Online TeleChart Help which can be accessed from within TeleChart by selecting Help | Online Help Files from the menus. Here are the entries on indicators:
Parent vs Child Indicators Average Directional Movement (ADX) Balance of Power Bollinger Bands Custom Indicator Custom Percent True Custom Price Channel Custom Cumulative Envelope Channels Indicator scale toggle Linear Regression MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) Cumulative MoneyStream (CMS) Moving Average Moving Linear Regression On Balance Volume Price Rate of Change Rate Of Change (ROC) Relative Strength Graph Stochastics Time Segmented Volume Volume Bars Wilder's RSI Worden’s Market Indicators (T2s)

edavidov:
In my opinion, this is best done through the use of visual sorting, rather than formulas. To learn how to find relationships between moving averages (crosses, etc.), watch this video:
Comparing indicators using Visual Difference sorts
To learn how to construct formulas and an EasyScan to find these moving average relationships, you can watch this training video:
Create PCFs and EasyScans to find moving average crossovers

Try these:
18 Period EMA crossing up through 40 Period EMA: XAVGC18>XAVGC40 AND XAVGC18.1<=XAVGC40.1
40 Period EMA crossing up through 18 Period EMA: XAVGC18<XAVGC40 AND XAVGC18.1>=XAVGC40.1

Copy and paste them as they are now, edavidov. Bruce had inadvertently left out one letter, and I edited the formula to include it. They are now correct and should be used as you see them in the above post.
Once you use these, I still encourage you to watch the videos I mentioned. They will help you in the future as you come up with more ideas to try.

I have copied both into separate PCF windows, and I do not get a syntax error. The formulas are correct as they stand. Please try highlighting one of the formulas above and pressing CTRL-C. Then go to a blank PCF window and type CTRL-V to paste the formula in. Then click TEST. You should get a result (True of False) but not a syntax error.

False is a valid result for the formula. Not all stocks meet the conditions of the formula, thus they will return a result of False. Sounds like your formulas are working just fine. Make sure they are updated, and then you can use them to sort any list to find the crossovers you're looking for.

Not sure what you mean, John. This thread started on February 15, and you can read all of the posts made to it.
If you would like to see what has been said about various indicators on previous days, you can click the Search button and type in the name of an indicator, and you'll get a listof topics where that indicator was discussed.
Lots of good discussions have taken place here about various indicators.

Only the posts for today are showing on this thread. I wanted to see the posts for yesterday and the day before etc. How do I do that ? Is there a scroll back feature ?

If you scroll up you should see the older posts. This is all one web page. All of the replies are on the same page.

john:
This particular thread was started on Tuesday evening. Indicators are discussed a lot here in the forum, so perhaps you were looking at a similar thread, and later you thought it was this one. Anytime you're looking at a particular thread, all of the posts in that thread will be available for you to see. The thread may have more than one page of posts (this one does not), in which case you would go to the bottom of the thread and click on the next page number.
